I heard my preacher say in a Southern Baptist Church in Texas
that he was sure Jesus heard remarks he didn't like or agree with growing up in synagogue in Nazareth. He didn't quit his synagogue. His implication was clear, why was everyone making such a big deal about Obama staying at his home church?

This is in a small city in Texas, that is predominatley Republican, and my church would be considered to be a conservative church.

I was so happy to hear from my own Pastor tell people to get over it.

1. People who go to church know that it is not just the pastor but the community that are important.

2. Many religious people have defended Obama and Wright.
On principle. They would not want their religions to be publicly ridiculed and the under stand that we have Freedom of Religion and Separation of Church and State.

4. Your pastor has an interesting perspective, but Jesus did indeed
form his own congregation. His right ... but you can't say Jesus didn't act on his convictions.

5. Maybe shopping for your church in the same way that you shop for clothes,
or comfortable shoes, or an impressive house, is what got us into this MESS in the first place.

Learning is the result of CHALLENGE.

I may think the building in which the statue of Abraham Lincoln, in D.C., is an obsolete design affected too much by unimaginative, narrow-minded, "Classicism", but that does not stop me from discerning the Truth in the life of the FLAWED man commemorated there.

6. If you grew up in Obama's church the last thing you would think
is you had to think like the Pastor. That church has a history of fighting the big wigs on top since about mid-1500's. They are still doing it.
