2. How many superdelegates are there in NY?
Just trying to understand the significance of 41 -- if it's an overwhelming majority, half, whatever. Thanks.

6. Thanks.
So my answer would be sucking up just in case the Senator doesn't get the nod. Probably the same with Obama. Politics.

4. Other.. they signed on early.. when she was annointed as the winner
before people actually started voting... now they are embarrassed to switch..and probably fear the wrath if they did now..

It's too bad they don't vote anonymously.. I think a lot of them would have jumped.. a long time ago

5. Probably a combination of
ingredients. She's been very good for NY from what I've heard from people who live there. She is very popular and won the state by a substantial margin if I remember correctly.

7. Try this test: who did Hillary run against in 2006? If you can find five New Yorkers
who can answer that off the top of their heads, I'd be amazed. The Republicans really scraped the bottom of the barrel looking for someone willing to run against her.

10. What I never understood
is why she spent so much money on her re-election campaign. She was pretty much a shoe-in.

8. because they don't want to be tar and feathered by James Carivelle
and that is exactly why he lashed out at Richardson with the Judas comment.

If a single super delegate defects from New York then there will dozens in other states that will jump too.

12. Who are the NY super delegates that might want to change here are a couple
1) Gov Patterson - he did not resign his DNC super delegate seat and as a result cost Hillary a super delegate seat

2) Sen Schumer Not entirely happy camper with the kitchen sink go and fight at the convention guy

http://www.observer.com/2008/schumer-avoiding-self-destructive-end-clinton-vs-obama

3)Rep. Charles Rangel (NY) his district went overwhelming for Obama and his wife has endorsed him.

11. None of the above
New York is a state that still has a strong Democratic Party machine. Right now that machine is backing Hillary so none of the Super Delegates dare defy them.
