I heard my preacher say in a Southern Baptist Church in Texas |
|
Edited on Sun Mar-30-08 05:00 PM by sorrybushisfromtexas
that he was sure Jesus heard remarks he didn't like or agree with growing up in synagogue in Nazareth. He didn't quit his synagogue. His implication was clear, why was everyone making such a big deal about Obama staying at his home church? This is in a small city in Texas, the church of 500 is predominately Republican, and would be considered to be a conservative church. I was so happy to hear my own Pastor tell people to get over it. Our county convention split 15 delegates Obama, 14 delegates for Clinton after she had a 20 margin in the primary. We were better organized so a higher percentage of precinct elected delegates showed up for Obama than Clinton. The County convention lasted almost 8 hours. I did not hear a single delegate say they would not vote for the eventual candidate. Math indicates that is Obama. The Obama supporters that I talked to male, female, black, white, Asian, American Indian, all said they would vote for the eventual candidate. The Clinton supporters said the same.
SO WHAT SAY YOU ON DU, WILL YOU SUPPORT THE NOMINEE even if it is not your 1st choice? The alternative is 4 more years of MCBush Republican control of our lives. Think about it before you answer.
peace

1. I agree with you 100% people making much to do about nothing... |

I think FOX has had it on every 5 minutes, I expect to see a banner that Rev. Wright farted somewhere in public next. I am voting for the Democrat who wins........period.

I think the nominee will be Obama.
But I don't think Texas will turn blue this year. Do you?

it will be a heck of a lot closer than it has been the last 2 general election.
Our county convention was slow, tedious, boring but so damned uplifting to see so many turn out and be so excited about the GE in the fall,

3. Good for your preacher! |
|
Too much has been made of what Rev. Wright said, especially because the segments that have been shown on TV ad nauseum were but a small part of a larger sermon.
As far as the election goes, if Obama doesn't get the nomination, I'll vote for Clinton. No way in HELL would I vote for McCain!

6. Do you expect anyone to quit if they didn't like what the pastor said? |
|
