Obama Wins Texas!!!!!
Obama Camp Declares Victory In Texas Conventions And Overall State Contest
By Eric Kleefeld - March 30, 2008, 1:44AM
The Obama campaign has released the following statement, declaring a big victory in the Texas caucuses and an overall win for the Texas Two-Step:

Caucuses Guarantee Obama Win In Texas

AUSTIN - With more than 56% of the results tallied from today's 284 Democratic district conventions across Texas, Senator Barack Obama currently is projected to earn a 38-29 pledged delegate win in the Texas caucuses, exactly as projected on the day after the March 4th precinct caucuses. The nine delegate margin in the caucuses means Obama will gain a net margin of five pledged delegates from Texas because Senator Clinton narrowly won the Texas primary by only four delegates, 65-61.

"Despite the Clinton campaign's widespread attempts to prevent many Texans from participating in their district convention, the voters of Texas confirmed Senator Obama's important delegate win in the Lone Star State," said Obama spokesman Josh Earnest. "Today's record-shattering turnout sends a clear message that the American people are ready for change in Washington and new leadership in the White House that will stand up for working families."

The Obama campaign will release a more detailed tally of the results tomorrow.

60. It depends on what....
the difinition of "luze" is? Luze, as in not win, or luze as in misplace? It's still there, below Oklahoma and between Louisiana and New Mexico?

Hillary didn't luze that small State. She knows where it is. Besides two Louisianas equal 1/2 Texas. So take the delegates she got from La. multiply by two, and again by two, some votes were for Bill, throw out "Harris" Co. Texas delegates (Curella assumed votes) and thats the only fair way to do it.

Rewrite it in the histrie books and call it the 2sLa "approach"!

You Obamaites are so shallow and parce every word people say? Desperate...desperate...desperate!

12. MSM was wrong -they never should have called the state for Hillary
It's the same kind of shit they pulled in Florida in 2000. Those effing bastards should get their facts straight first.

They never understood the two step caucus process, and actually it's still not over, but I feel pretty confident that the delegates elected to the state convention will follow through on their committment to Obama.

We knew on March 4th it wasn't over and that Obama would do much, much better in the caucus system. That's where he has depth in grassroots organization.

Turn out and come back to support him we did. Texas delivered for Obama. Yes we did!

15. Even though more people went to the polls in Texas on election day and voted for Sen. Clinton?
It makes no sense.

The Democratic Party needs to scrap this whole thing of proportionally awarding delegates.

I am a fan of the Republican's winner-take-all system.

Whoever won the most votes on election day should get the delegates.

And in this case, that would be Sen. Clinton.

She won the Texas primary on election day.

Because after the game, you decide that field goals are more important. You play by the rules of the contest, not by how you wish the rules were after you lost. Why is that always so hard for Hillbots to understand?

39. "Even Bill Says Do Or Die For Hillary In Texas"
Edited on Sun Mar-30-08 05:49 PM by VolcanoJen
February 20, 2008

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=4318311

Even Clinton's most devoted surrogate -- her husband, Bill Clinton -- acknowledged the do-or-die stakes on Wednesday in Beaumont, Texas, conceding that a loss in Texas or Ohio would likely doom her candidacy.

"If she wins Texas and Ohio I think she will be the nominee. If you don't deliver for her, I don't think she can be. It's all on you," the former president told the audience at the beginning of his speech.

(snip)

Texas' odd system of allocating delegates has flummoxed the Clinton campaign. (Hillary) Clinton told reporters over the weekend that her aides were still struggling to understand how the state operates.

"I've got people trying to understand it as we speak," she said. "Grown men are crying as we speak. I had no idea it was so bizarre."

50. I'm not sure the delegate win means he won the state. Like Nevada.
I'm not sure what it means, other than he won more delegates. But since Clinton won the primary, even if only marginally delegate-wise, and won the popular vote in TX, I am wondering if that means that she still is considered the winner in TX. I mean...everyone knew back on 3/4 that Obama would win the caucuses by a significant margin, but all the media and BOTH campaigns stated that Clinton had won the state.

This is so confusing.

In any case, I HOPE his campaign shouts this outcome from the rooftop, because even if Clinton won in name only, as a practical matter OBAMA WON TEXAS, seems to me.
