Clinton hurting Obama (and the Party) over a 5 percent chance
New York Times columnist David Brooks gives Hillary Clinton only a 5 percent chance of being able to win the nomination, now that there won’t be revotes in the Florida and Michigan primaries and she is steadily losing superdelegates. Yet for that 5 percent chance, here’s what Brooks says Clinton is going to put her party through:

“For three more months (maybe more!) the campaign will proceed along in its Verdun-like pattern,” he wrote. “There will be a steady rifle fire of character assassination from the underlings, interrupted by the occasional firestorm of artillery when the contest touches upon race, gender or patriotism.”

This all benefits John McCain. Brooks wrote: “McCain’s approval ratings have soared 11 points. He is now viewed positively by 67 percent of Americans. A month ago, McCain was losing to Obama among independents by double digits in a general election matchup. Now McCain has a lead among this group.

“For three more months, Clinton is likely to hurt Obama even more against McCain, without hurting him against herself. And all this is happening so she can preserve that 5 percent chance.”

2. Yesterday's news; not an issue any more
GOP columnist must have hated it when the issue ended before his piece published. They expect to wipe out Obama, so of course he wanted her out. They're afraid of GOP women deserting the old man in Noveember.

6. Ya think
notorious right wing Republican spinmeister David Brooks just might have an agenda?

Got any choice quotes from Robert Novak on Senator Clinton's campaign?

7. What David Brooks thinks...
and a dollar-two-eighty-three will get him a cup of coffee in most places.

Obama has said that it is not bothering him as to how long Hillary wishes to keep in the race, and I agree with him. Let this thing run it's course.

If Hillary loses, I'm confident that she will do the right thing.

10. But many of the BO surrogates are
afraid that Hillary is going to prove that she can win big in those states remaining that might count in the GE. It's not about who has won the little states like Wyoming by 1500 votes through some undemocratic caucus. They fear.......

11. Before people go crazy over Brooks (who I despise) remark at a 5% chance
it should be reminded that he was referring to a credible high level source that was reported saying that the Clinton campaign put their chances at 10%. The point of the leak was to establish that the Clinton campaign managers were not delusional or stupid.
