What a Difference a Week Makes |
|
I’m sitting at home listening to Bill Clinton speaking live at a Hillary rally in a local high school gymnasium. Last Saturday I got to attend Barack Obama’s town hall in the same city. What a difference. I got up before sundown and waited in line for hours for the Obama event. This afternoon I don’t even have enough interest in the local appearance of a former president to watch it on television. I supported and defended Bill Clinton through his darkest hours but I now see a much diminished figure who no longer has my trust.
He started off bragging about her wins in Ohio and Texas, evidently oblivious to the fact that she is gaining fewer delegates in Texas than her opponent. He is trying to credit Hillary with his administration’s accomplishments. Talk about conflating. That must be a presidential art.
Next week we get Hillary herself. We get a second dose of civic disruption and inconvenience for the same candidate who probably is no longer viable. Our political backwater is getting an inordinate amount of attention in this protracted primary. We will likely have a John McCain appearance in the next few weeks. I should be excited about the focus on our state that normally is not a player in presidential primary elections. To me the Clinton one-two punch and the “Senility Express” are big yawns after getting to be in the same room with the president who will ultimately clean up George Bush’s mess.

2. If you know any local business owners- |
|
In your community, please don't discourage them from earning a living but make sure that they get MUFFS (Money Up Front For Sure)
With all the financial fiasco, it's in their best interests to get paid before providing. Or to at least ask for a 50% percent down.

3. An update from our local daily's web site |
|
"The North gymnasium, with a capacity of about 3,000, was not quite filled for Clinton's visit." The Obama event tickets were gone in twenty minutes. http://www.mailtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080330/NEWS07/803300341

4. It's sort of funny, and sad, to watch this Clinton campaign. |
|
In the 90s, it seemed, they were political masters.
Now they seem completely tone deaf to the times, the national mood, and the Internet.
