Dean's Endorsement Helps McCain
Howard Dean is doing his job, attacking the Republican candidate. However his own words are coming back to haunt him and help McCain.

“Who would you rather have in charge of the defense of the United States of America,” Dean asked the young crowd, “a group of people who never served a day overseas in their life or a guy who served his country honorably and has three Purple Hearts and a Silver Star from the battlefields of Vietnam?”

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4580606/

Dean added, "The real issue is this: Who would you rather have in charge of the defense of the United States of America, a group of people who never served a day overseas in their life, or a guy who served his country honorably and has three Purple Hearts and a Silver Star on the battlefields of Vietnam?"

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A23587-2004Mar25_2.html

McCain served his country honorably and has been awarded the Silver Star, the Legion of Merit, two Bronze Star Medals, a Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

I think everyone is aware that neither Hillary or Obama have served their country militarily.

News covering Dean's attacks have been followed with these quotes about Kerry. It seems to diminish his current attacks considerably.

7. oh for pity's sake- the same could be said of EVERY
prominent dem who supported Kerry. They all touted his military service. I'm betting I can dig up some quotes from Hill and Bill as well. There are plenty of areas to attack McCain on, and thank goodness hoho is doing so.

This is simply your passive agressive attempt to attack Dean.

24. oops, didn't even realize I'd called him that
Local political pundit Peter Freyne dubbed him that years ago and it stuck here in VT. Not nearly as bad as some of Peter's nicknames. He dubbed a local lawmaker "Suzie Creamcheese". That stuck too. And this is just the hazards of political campaigning, and as I pointed out, not particular to Dean.

Of showing the Obama supporters inconsistency which is quite apparent and it reflects there bias toward Hillary. Now, if they would support Hillary as equally as Obama everyone would be happy.

14. John McCain is a fuck-up
who graduated at the bottom of his class at Annapolis and who who lost five aircraft in his military career (including the one in which he was shot down over Vietnam). Had it not been for the preferential treatment he received because of his family connections (Daddy and Granddaddy were both Rear Admirals) he never would have graduated from the Naval Academy, much less launched a pathetic career as a naval aviator.

John McCain is the military experience as George W. Bush is to business experience.

What a cheap shot this is. Did you read the whole statement?

Dean made a powerful effort at going after McCain while Hillary who voted for the war is tearing down the party.

This is cheap.

I don't think this is any different today.

It's been posted time and time again that if you want to vote for somebody based on resume and years of experience, McCain is your guy. That's just the fact of the race. Democrats had an ability to choose years of experience in somebody like Biden but he didn't last long at all.

So, now McCain can deal with http://www.vietnamveteransagainstjohnmccain.com/">this crap.

Also, as I pointed out http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=5322705&mesg_id=5322705">here, people will believe what they want. If they like McCain he's a hero. If they don't like McCain, he's a traitor. yardwork noted that the Freepers hate John McCain and his "war hero" status has been trashed just as badly as Kerry's over there.

In 2004, Dennis Miller made the most sensible criticism concerning John Kerry's Vietnam accomplishments, "Ultimately, it's not about who he was 30 years ago, it's about who he is today." That was a fair criticism and if the wingnut Swiftboating doesn't work, then that's one that will.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x3085410

So her surrogates can keep demanding their money back from the DNC, and threatening the party for enforcing rules on FL and MI.

So good for the DNC.

I find it odd you would post that here.
