If PA gets close in polls will Hillary throw in another sink?
Edited on Mon Mar-31-08 10:54 AM by Bensthename
Obama has money, momentum, and time on his side to get close to Hillary in the polls before the primary. Hillary knows she has to win PA to stay in this thing. Will she leak something to the press or do something dramatic as she is now famous for, the week before the primary? Any how, with Obama's recourses I'm putting my money on Obama to get close or win.

4. All Obama has to do is not lose by more than 20 points in PA.
Let's not let raised expectations muddy the waters. Clinton needs to win by 20 in PA to provide even a shred of justification for her continued candidacy.

For those of you who would vehemently disagree, I'll remind you that, by her OWN campaign's statements about where she had to be right now to win this, she's already past the point where she previously claimed she's not viable.

5. I agree, I just feel with so much time..
and with his campaigning skils he has a good chance.
And of course his campaign shouldn't be saying this. This is just my observation.

9. At for the OP, I have no doubt that she'll try.
It'll be interesting to see what she comes up with. Nothing so far has worked, and she should have used up her "good dirt" by now.

36. In central Pa ...
The "Alabama" part, though I might add, that is going a lot too far ... But that is another discussion ...

Some things ...

Both have ads going on TV and radio ... Pretty steady, and weeks out, so both are going to POUR money in ...

Hill had Bill up are way late last week ... Obama just went through on a Bus tour over the weekend ... Sorry, he just is TOO freakin cool ... In Latrobe, stopped by a big bar/restraunt and had a beer with some folks ... Went bowling in Altoona among the other stuff the next day, then did the huge A PSU rally on Sunday - what did he do earlier in the morning ... Got up and played basketball with Senator Casey and some PSU girls hoopers (by their report, to no surprise, he can play), then hit a PSU dairy facility and fed a calf ... Then, did his stump for 22,000 people ...

He just is in the ZONE ...

My sense ... I think he can close the gap definitely, but I just think there are too many people who are going to hold on to the Clinton name ... Unless the media drums up another faux outrage like Wright, I think he closes the overall gap to 5 or so, but ...

I think that functionally, that SHOULD be enough for Hill to bow out, but I think it is going to take even more SDs coming out and pushing Obama's total to the halfway point ...

It pushes the percentage she needs in the rest of the states up 2-3 percentage points.

7. Correction: She has to win it BIG...really, really BIG to still be in it...
Edited on Mon Mar-31-08 11:02 AM by truebrit71
...if it's within 10-15 points and she makes minimal inroads on the delegate count she is officially toast.

If she stays in she will have her ass handed to her in NC and it will then be painfully obvious to one and all that she is in this for herself...

Bottom line, with the dire state of her campaign finances as they are, if she does win PA going away she will have even less $$$ than she does now, and she'll have zero expectation fo it picking up...

She is done.

14. Mathematically, she had to win ALL races after Wisconsin.. in the 65% range
She's never been "in" it since Wisconsin..except for the media who desperately wants this to "play out"..

8. I see Clinton moving the goalposts again, creating another scenario for her fast fading victory.
Somehow I think the ultimate goal is to personally destroy Obama as much as possible to hurt him in November.

11. I don't know what the Clinton campaign will do; I thought they had
to win BIG in both Ohio and Texas for her to remain in the race, and the goalposts got moved...and now it appears that she may indeed lose Texas, and it just makes me sad to think of the ways in which the Clinton campaign might spin this in any event, just to stay in the fight. I agree, she has every right to stay in as long as she wants. I don't agree that it's the right thing to do.
I'm not a Clinton basher; I truly believe it's detrimental to the party, especially at this point when the R's have theirs sewn up - we need to be united in fighting the real enemy, not each other.

18. If PA closes substantially it will be her own Fault...chiefly Bosnia but
the problem bluntly is going to be money. SHe is going to have to spend hevily on advertsing to win the state. and if she wins by a few points she may not have money to compete in North Carolina and Indiana and at that point she has no way to recover in any of the ways her campaign suggests.

If she gets less than 52% in PA It is going to be perceived as a loss becuase shw eill nothave made up any ground in Delegates or PV. There will be tremendoues pressure for her to pull out and she won't have the resources to continue.

Or was it one of those anonymous emails on the "internets" like the Muslim slime propogated by Hillary's young women in Iowa in Dec?
