Okay, what's this punishment shit |
|
I've been busy this morning, I missed the details. But from what I gather, one more time, Obama tells a truth that DU has been upset about for years - and you fucking hypocrites turn against him.
Did he point out that the religious nutballs oppose abortion and think girls deserve the punishment of having a child?? Is that what he said?
And you WOMEN, who have been arguing that point for years, are going to turn on him for that???
Really???
Is this really all the ethics some of you have? Somebody has the guts to make your exact point (and you know Hillary won't fight the religious on contentious points like this} - and you STILL won't back him up?
Un.Real.

1. Forcing a woman to have a baby she doesn't want is punishment. |
|
When someone commits a crime, they are told, "You did the deed, now you have to pay the price. You have no choice in the matter." They're being punished because they did something wrong.
If a pregnant girl/woman is told, "You did the deed, now you have to pay the price. You have no choice in the matter." - that is also punishment. How can it not be?
I'm proud of him for having the guts to say it. I'm sure he's going to be SLAMMED for it, but I never imagined that pro-choice women, who have been arguing this point for a long time, would be the ones doing the slamming. :-(

This just shows how the Hillary folks are so desperate for an issue they can sink their teeth into to define a difference between Barack and Hillary that they are willing to throw Rowe vs Wade under the bus.

It can also be a great punishment for the child.

The worse thing for a child is to be born into a world where it's not wanted and/or the mother is not financially or emotionally able to care of it. Very often, those kind of situations breed neglect and abuse. :-(

In either of those cases she wasn't at fault, so she doesn't need to be punished for anything. Right?

:eyes: I got news for you, the religious right wants all abortions illegal including in cases of rape incest or danger to the mother. Then when the kid is born they want him/her to "pull themselves up by their bootstraps."
How dare anyone stand with them.

that sparked this idiotic tangent, please raise your hand. The question was about abstinence education. His answer was we should teach ethics and morals as well as contraception. He said he has 2 girls and he plans to teach them what is right, but if they should make a mistake he doesn't want them punished by having a baby or contracting and STD. Now. What the hell is wrong with that?

stunned. The incredible level of dishonesty shown by Clinton supporters who are pretending that they didn't understand that Obama was talking about being pro-life and pro-sex education just astounds me. They are going to sit here and denounce what he said? Which would put them firmly in the pro-life, pro-abstinence education camps? Then they want to whine about how vicious and unfair Obama and his people are.. :eyes:

What principles and ideals will these people NOT trash for the sake of Hillary's hopeless candidacy?

23. a baby IS a punishment for a 15 year old.. |
|
sorry..but it;s the truth..
she;s either going to have to plan for a lifetime of poverty, or her Mom is going to have to raise another child for her
or
she'll have an abortion, and may feel badly about it
or she'll give it up for adoption and wonder how that baby is..where that baby is for the rest of her life
Why not teach responsible contraception to all teens, and quit being so damned provincial about sex..
a hundred years ago, girls got MARRIED at 15 or 16..and the age at which a girl first menstruated was not 9,10.11, like it is now..
Our kids are sexualized these days.. It's a fact.. and kids will have sex a LOT sooner than we did or we would want them to,,
fertile teenagers have very few "problems" becoming pregnant.,.
He was merely making a point that no parent wants a young teen to be having sex, and they will NOT ask permission..but their "punishment" for disobeying Mom & Dad, need not be a baby..
