the more I like Obama.
I love the bowling alley clips, and anywhere where he's meeting with people. He's so natural.
Pennsylvnia may surprise us and I wouldn't be surprised if it did.
Our man is likable, no doubt about it. I'd buy a used car from him, would like to have him as a neighbor, he'd suit me fine as a teacher - there's nowhere he doesn't fit. And on top of that, he's very smart and liberal.
I hate when this happens, but I am falling in love with him at last, and it seems that it just happened. Dean and Kennedy (and to a lesser extent, Edwards and Biden, because they didn't go far enough) were the last I had this great affection for.

I would so love to sit down and have a beer or two with him and shoot the breeze... He is very likable indeed.
Edited to say:
The thing that really strikes me about Obama is you never (or very rarely) ever here me or I out of him, but rather we and us.... That makes me feel good as well.

at one time or another. First because he's brilliant. Second because of his vision for America. And then all the sudden you start noticing all those pictures of him with his family.

He says he seems very genuine to him and that's unusual to find in someone running for high office.

because my wife liked him initially because of his laid back style-she liked that he would show up without a suit and tie on, seeming like a regular real person.

6. Really? I don't think he seems like a regular guy at all. |
|
He always seems to have his chin in the air and he looks stuck up to me. I also think he looks haughty. Now, this may just be the way he looks, but it doesn't seem to me that he makes a genuine connection. He seems to have an aloofness, a reserve.

I just pointed out that he's always get his head tilted back and his chin up in the air. I noticed it in the debates (the ones where they were sitting down). He didn't make eye contact with Hillary at all.

man. He is a classy man and carries himself well. They used to be common in politics. I can understand your confusion over seeing one again. However, the arrogant shit you are using equates to uppity and in my book that is a racial slam.

A lot of people have observed Obama's posture and demeanor as appearing arrogant. Nobody has said "uppity," but you'd love it if they did! Give it a fucking rest.

10. Aloofness, like Hillary in Bosnia landing with sniper fire? |

Or changing the goal posts?
Or saying she was part of the Ireland peace accord, behind the scenes?
That kind of aloofness?

Really? Always? I don't think so. He's taken some unflattering photos. Given the gazillions of times he's been photographed it's not suprising that there are duds out there. And you are using those to jusify your opinion of him. Well, whatever.
May every photo taken of you always be perfect!

|
Edited on Mon Mar-31-08 07:26 PM by LisaM
and yes, she did kill herself when her husband (Ted Hughes) left her for another woman. Less well known is that a few years later, he left that woman and she, too, killed herself, same method (gas). Sadly, she also killed their child, a little girl. At least Sylvia Plath made sure that her own children lived (they were home, but she stuffed blankets in their bedroom doors, opened their windows, and put food and water in their beds).

Isn't that the kind of loving family you want in the White House? Have you seen Michelle's full speeches? She is just like your best girlfriend. When I think of these very real people in the White House, I don't think we've really had that since the Trumans.

17. I like that he doesn't smile all the time. |
|
Hilliary's over-the-top laughing, wide open smile mouth, her hearty run-walk onto stage always seems so forced and phony. And she has a little half-smile on her face most of the time in debates (though I think she uses that as a mini facelift).
Obama just looks confident & easy... so confident he doesn't have to play those ingratiating games. So when he does smile, he means it.
