Clinton supporter: FOX has done the fairest job, and remained the most objective of all the cable
Edited on Mon Mar-31-08 05:26 PM by Mass
Rendell, on Fox News yesterday:

...
I think during this entire primary coverage, starting in Iowa and up to the present -- FOX has done the fairest job, and remained the most objective of all the cable networks.
..

Who knew? :nuke: :nuke:

(sure, pushing racist and sexist memes is doing the fairest job. Congratulation. Gov, Rendell. I assume this is what you can call desperate)
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/2008/03/gov_ed_rendell_dpa_fox_news_is.php video at link)

EDIT: changed surrogate to supporter, so that the stupidity of the claim does not get lost in trivial hair splitting.

4. Because FOX WANTS Hillary to be the nominee...
You should have heard Brit Hume and Bill Kristol this weekend complaining how unfair Hillary was being treated and how MI and FL should have their votes counted and how Hillary should fight all the way through the convention.

If you don't vote for Hillary, you HATE AMERICA? That kind of horseshit went out with Joe McCarthy. I love my country and I have done my civic duty and voted in every major election since 1972. Shame on you, Mags.

40. That 's the absolute truth. Why do you people want a guy that
was raised as an anti-American atheist, then joined an anti-American church as our Pres. It makes no sense at all. Wake up before it's to late for all of us. That plus his lies are directly tearing the country apart, regarding his racism remarks. If he didn't agree with Wright after hearing him speak of hate all those years why didn't he go to a church that doesn't just attract one race. If he wants to be pres. he should be smart enough to do that. Since it didn't occur to him he really just isn't smart enough for the job. The church I attend has all colors and nationalities. We're a university parish. We never hear anyone's race or ethnicity besmirched Everyone shakes hands and greets each other warmly.

62. Simple..........
When Obama moved to Chicago he had to establish his roots within the black community if he wanted to run for office. When he met Wright he brought him to his church. The church suited him just fine and gave him bona fide credentials within the black community. He could not afford to disown his church and lose support from his most faithful constituency.

I do find it interesting that just last week he said that he would have left the church if Wright hadn't resigned. Ahhhhh, political expediency at its best. Only do the right thing when you're caught in a tight spot. All politicians do it, why I find it so amusing in Obama's case is that he has sold himself to his faithful as an agent of "change" who would transform the old DC way of doing politics.

Well, the truth is that he's just another politician......only better packaged.

68. YOu gotta get out more...
Don't you do more than accept all the pap that comes down
from the media? YOu see one sound byte, and know the 'facts'?

Think for yourself... do some research,
find the whole damn sermon Wright preached,
listen to it, then make an informed opinion.

Trinity UCC is multiracial,
and they do not preach hate.

If you attend a university parish, I"m sure
your pastor wants you to think before you judge.

Before you make a decision about Obama's church,
I suggest you worship in an African American parish.

22. What's going on???
Fox isnt really a GOP channel, they are really a cheerleader for corporate influence in our government.

That means they CAN support a Democrat if they dont trust the Republican, as long as that Democrat supports the increased corporate influence of our goverment, and Murdock thinks they would govern that way after being elected.

Up until Hillary they havent had a Democrat they thought met that qualification.

Nothing could pull the nutwing base together as quickly as Hillary Clinton.

They hate women.

They hate the Clintons.

They hate us.

They're SALIVATING for her to be our nominee. That's not her fault and does no justice to whatever her qualities may be. But, it's just true.

Yes, Olbermann has been calling Senator Clinton out a lot lately, but it has been because her behavior has been pretty egregious. You know, no one criticized Olbermann when he was putting out nearly weekly special comments about President Bush, but one special comment about Hillary Clinton's virtual endorsement of John McCain, and he is now worse than Fox News? Give me a break!

But Ed Rendell is essentially a surrogate for the campaign, even if he is not getting paid by them. He is the main cheerleader for the Clinton campaign in Pennsylvania. Would you be saying this if Senator Casey had said the same thing about Fox News. Frankly, the Clinton campaign's attempts to cozy up with Richard Mellon Scaife and Richard Murdoch are disturbing to me.

IMO Democrats should boycott them. I don't mean this should be the case for all right wing media. As much as I don't like the Weekly Standard and the National Review, they admit their bias and their agenda. Until Fox does the same I think we should be boycotting them.

Sometimes I also go over to FreeRepublic and Townhall.com to see what THEIR headlines are.

I think a person needs to go to a BROAD variety of sources to be informed.

That's just me, though. I don't believe sticking one's head in the sand.

Just like the networks.

Are you going to tell me they don't pick and choose what news and stories go into your paper?

If anything, you are more at risk to be influenced by the news one way or the other than one who gets his news from all sources.

60. Actually.............Rendell is correct.
If you are a Hillary supporter like I am, then you have come to realize that only FOX, PBS and C-Span have given Hillary a fair shake. FOX doesn't like either candidate, so at least they bash both equally and have even defended her on occasion (particularly Bill O'Reilly).

FOX is a network I never used to watch, but I gravitated to them after the underhanded and disgusting way that MSNBC has treated Hillary for months. They couldn't have been more partial to Obama and more sexist if it had been written in their by-laws. The only program I can even tolerate to watch anymore is Dan Abram's.

As for CNN, they are not much better than MSNBC, but once in a while I see a glimmer of an attempt to report fairly on the candidates.

The reality is that the MSM is in the tank for Obama, has been so since IA and will remain so until they get him elected and then they will pile on him like they have done to every other president.

63. Nice to see that some Hillary supporters are fine with a channel promoting racism and sexism.
So great to see where their progressive values are! Because FOX is not fair. It is basically biased against both candidates. And if this is your notion of fair, you are just tools to the RW media.

65. Promoting sexism? That would be MSNBC.
Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 09:18 AM by Beacool
Should I list the names? At the top of the dung pile would be Tweety, king of the sexist jerks. Let's not also forget Joe, Tucker, Shuster, et al.

FOX may be shilling for the conservatives, but MSNBC is a total disgrace that doesn't even deserve to be called a news channel.

67. Fox does too, You are just happy they do racism as well so you are ready to forget it.
As for MSNBC, I simply do not watch (neither do I watch FOX. I simply do not watch cable). Except for Olberman, there is nothing worth seeing there anyway, but it does not make FOX a fair channel in honest people's minds.

70. I only watch FOX occasionally, so I honestly haven't seen
the sexism that you mention but I wouldn't be surprised if it's there since it's been prevalent in most media this election season. I just think that MSNBC is the most blatant offender.

69. Olbermann lit this moron up last night in Worst Persons....Rendell has drunk deeply from the
...cup of Hillary Kool-aid...

He was on CBS this morning spouting similarly optimistic pro-Clinton horsehit....

The more this guy opens his mouth the more he proves himself a horses ass....

KO lost me after the 10 minute diatribe against Hillary over Ferraro's unwise comments. Did KO deliver a similar long winded speech chastising Obama for what a supporter had said (as he did w/ Hillary) after the Wright controversy? Hell, no!!!

Therefore, KO is another one who I have added to the MSNBC dung pile headed by Tweety.

74. Typical Hillbot response...funny how you lot have discarded all of your old heroes..
..as they dare criticise your Queen...

I will not take the time to explain the difference between what Wright said and what Ferraro said because your avatar displays your aversion to truth...

I wish you well on your journeys...

76. Last time I checked Faux news out they were pushing the right wing agenda, how is that "fair"?
Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 10:28 AM by Jennicut
They run it in continuously-right wing=good, left wing=bad. Whatever "good" news coverage of Hillary that they provide is done simply to build up Hillary whom they originally wanted to face come Novemeber. None of it is done out of "fairness". As a Dem, I thought Rendell might realize this but he is so desperate for any good news for Hill that he will turn to Faux.

86. well, maybe Scaife being impressed by HIllary confused everyone!
:wow:

I have to say that the one time I watched Faux News on an election night just out of curiosity, they actually were more even-handed than I expected. I was kind of shocked. (of course that might have been since Bush was sadly winning)
