Challenge to DUers
Seriously people.

Obama people hate Hillary; Hillary people hate Obama and people on DU post about it ad naseum.

I get it already.

Honestly, I don't care, I'm supporting whoever the democratic candidate is on the November ballot, and I doubt any of these posts have changed anyone's mind.

The purpose of my post is to see if we can use some of that energy to point out why the republicans should not hold any elected office.

The challenge: for every post against your opponent, post one about John McCain.

We don't have to stop posting about our opponent's faults, but when you do, you have to balance it with a post that reminds everyone who the real enemy: continued republican policies, their lies and their fear- and warmongering.

Of course, this is voluntary and no one can (or will be) policed.

But, we need to get away from giving the real enemy a free ride and attacking our friends.

We can get along.

And that's all you can come up with?

4. Thank you!
I will vote for our nominee in November. I'm not really invested in Hillary, but I really don't care for Obama. However, I will not join in an attack on either of them, because one of them will be MY candidate and hopefully OUR president, come January 2009.

If the rightwing machine wants anymore dirt on either of them, let's not make this their first stop.

10. Only problem is this is GDP-dedicated to primaries.
The Admins should get rid of it already.

It serves no purpose other than to fan the flames of hatred.

11. Technically...
...it says:

If your thread is about the Democratic presidential primaries and caucuses, or about any of the candidates running for the Democratic presidential nomination, or anything remotely related...

With emphasis on the "or anything remotely related" part.

What we do has not been decided by moderators on an internets forum.

19. Oh gimme a break, do you really think closing down GDP
will just stop the debate? All it will do is drive the mods nuts. I'm all for a cease fire, but I don't see it happening, and frankly I got tired of posting "unity" threads and watching them sink like stones.

17. Forget what everyone else is doing.
What are you doing?

And when you see someone posting something about the other democratic candidate, remind them who the real enemy is: the republican agenda of failure.

When you want to post something, ask yourself if it's something you'd hear on FOX.

If it is, don't post it.

If it isn't post away.

When you see a post from someone else that looks like it belongs on FOX, point it out and ask if they really want JOhn McCain to win. Or something.

21. Sometimes I do.. but sometimes
the debate here is so third grade you gotta just make jokes at people's expense, to keep from getting angry.. Like I said I'm all for a cease fire, but I'm also not going to sit here with people shooting at me and not shoot back.

20. I reject your first premise that Obama people hate Hillary.
I support Obama, but I do not hate Hillary. If she were to become the Democratic nominee I would vote for her. Yes, we forget that McCain and the Republicans are our true opposition. I agree that Obama and Clinton are like quarterbacks competing for the starting job on the same team, except that it appears that Clinton is willing to break Obama's legs to win the starting position for herself, even if it weakens the team for the regular season (the general election).
