Clinton's convention strategy in doubt - She won't have support of the Credentials committee
I was wondering how this works. It looks like it would be hard for Sen. Clinton to persuade Obama and Dean folks to see things her way - that is to go against the RULES and the will of the people. I hope the msm starts talking about this.

"If the fight over whether to count the results in Florida and Michigan makes it to the Democratic National Convention, Hillary Clinton will not have enough pledged votes on the 169-member Credentials Committee to deliver a majority decision in her favor, according to an analysis conducted for Politico.

"Her only hope of getting the key committee to vote out a “majority report” supporting her position rests on her ability to persuade an as-yet-undetermined number of the 25 members appointed to the committee by party Chairman Howard Dean to cast votes for her position.

"The DNC’s Credentials Committee consists of 144 pledged members (Florida and Michigan are not included) plus the 25 party leaders and elected officials appointed by Dean. The 25 Dean appointees include a mix of Dean loyalists, Obama supporters and at least several individuals who have endorsed Clinton."

1. So there is a minority report out of the credentials committee
and she takes it to the floor and has a floor fight.

Which, if Obama has more delegates supporting him, he will win, and basically this whole thing is a big stink for nothing.

2. Pretty much
that's how I read it. So I will go out on a limb here. I'm no reporter or politician. I think Sen. Clinton is waiting for something to go awry with the Obama campaign. Maybe some "scandal." Then she can swoop in and save all of us ignoramouses who didn't vote for her. I am stunned by how selfish her campaign has been, absolutely stunned.

3. they thought they had that scandal with Rev. Wright, but it didn't take.
I think they're clinging to the hope that something will come out of the Rezko trial that will taint Obama. And, truthfully, it could happen. But, I'd certainly hate to pin my hopes on that.

14. Or if for some reason Obama lost in the committee he could take it to the...
floor and win. This is provided he has the votes on the floor and if he doesn't have the votes on the floor then this whole thing is academic anyway. (He will have the votes BTW.)

10. Huh? Can you read?
"The DNC’s Credentials Committee consists of 144 pledged members (Florida and Michigan are not included) plus the 25 party leaders and elected officials appointed by Dean. The 25 Dean appointees include a mix of Dean loyalists, Obama supporters and at least several individuals who have endorsed Clinton."

Since you have trouble with reading comprehension, I summerize with bullet points.

>There are 144 pledged delegates on the committee - uh, they're elected, by us.
> Dean appointed an additional 25, which includes both Obama and Clinton superdelegates.

Uh, how is that screwing Clinton supporters? Are you suggesting it's unfair that she can't game the nomination? Sounds to me like she'll get an opportunity to plead her case, but the DNC isn't likely to put up with bullshit... which is about all Hillary has left to fling.

12. The MSM is hopeless.
If it takes more than 15 seconds to explain something they leave it alone.
