Obama supporters: Hillary is not our opponent, McCain is. Focus on him, ignore her...
Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 08:39 AM by wndycty
We are three weeks away from the Pennsylvania primary and I believe its important that we show the voters of Penn, North Carolina and Indiana that our candidate is the best man (or woman) to beat John McCain and we don't do that by showing that our guy is better than Hillary (we know that already) we do it by showing our guy is better than McCain.

Hillary's supporters will try to pick fights, instigate us, etc. IGNORE THEM, focus on McCain because he is Obama's ONLY competition.

2. This is a good idea
Obama supporters should focus on McCain and save the hatefulness for him and get off Hillary's bench.

3. Sorry, but I am still in "defending against Senator Tonya Clinton" mode
Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 08:41 AM by Yael
Talk to me about focusing on the GE after we vote on the 22nd.

I am still busy trying to call down my neighbors which sadly ends too many times with defending my candidate against the slime machine.

I keep to his positives, but until her name is out of the narrative -- it isn't over yet.

4. Do what you got to do. . .
. . .by remind your neighbors that Obama is better than McCain and will beat him in November. As you deal with Senator Tonya Clinton demonstrate to your neighbors that she is not read for prime time and the only candidate who can and will beat McCain is Senator Obama.

7. That is exactly what I try to tap into. Anti-war sentiment and economic concerns
It is still troubling to have people repeat the latest M$M narrative, concerned that her latest lies are facts.

12. Oh please, your people don't give a damn about fighting McCain.
A nice portion of them keep saying they won't vote in the general if Clinton's the nominee. Obviously Clinton is the real enemy.

14. Here in PA, Hillary is the opposing candidate on the ballot, not McCain
Talk to me after the 22nd.

16. Yup and the sooner she is treated as just another name on the ballot and not a viable alternative. .
...the better.

13. Reading comprehension issues?
McCain is not Barack's opponent. Hillary is.

We vote on the 22nd -- and after that, yes, we can focus on the GE.

We are still in primary mode here in PA.

5. All sides need to do this.
Jesus, McCain is such an easy target, pick your issue, Iraq, the economy, lobbying, hell the issue of sex education for the young people. Can you really let this idiot take office on January 20th 2009?

6. YES!
Absolutely right:thumbsup:

Except that I don't necessarily think we should completely ignore Hillary and her supporters. Yes, we should ignore any attacks or nastiness, and we should direct all of our energies and ammo at the true opponent (mccain).

But I wholeheartedly believe that now is the time to be as gracious as possible to all our fellow Dems and do everything within our power to make healing and reconciliation a reality!

8. Ignore her at your own peril.
Right now Obama has 2 -Three Hundred Pound Gorillas in the room. To say he should ignore one of them is a bad game plan if you ask me.

11. We'll let the official Obama campaign worry about Hillary. . .
Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 08:54 AM by wndycty
. . .grassroots supporters should focus their energies on McCain. Also, we should all be volunteering for his campaign and contributing. Trust me when we volunteer the campaign wants us to promote Obama not attack Hillary. By promoting Obama we will distinguish as the best person to lead this country.

18. Ignoring her is very dangerous.
She will cheat, lie (oops..."mis-speak") and do anything to win including complimenting McCain.

Not a good strategy if you ask me.

17. Obama tried focusing only on McCain before March 4 and he had the kitchen sink thrown at him
There was even one day after Wisconsin when he was attacked by Her Majesty, McCain and Bush. The trifecta.

Unfortunately, there's no better way to prolong this indefintely than to let Hillary play offense unopposed. We've already learned that the hard way.

19. Hillary's campaign will be over if she loses in Pennsylvania.
Why ease up every time she begins to lose.

She portrays McCain and herself as favorable.
She has tied herself to him, therefore she will get some of his criticism.

Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 10:02 AM by BlueIdaho
Sure they're going through the motions but she has no real chance what so ever - and now her finances are catching up with her. Let the Clinton posts sink off the DU boards, its time to start defining McCain and his flaws.

edit - spelling
