Lying us into the War on Iraq.
Republican sexual shenanigans
Bill Clinton's sexual shenanigans.
I am tired of people attempting to justify Bill Clinton's behavior by pointing out George Bush's lies or similar behavior by Republicans. In point of fact, they all seem to stem from the same hubris, the same notion that by attaining high office a person is now above the law and beyond the bounds of common decency.
What really disgusts me is the notion that since Bill Clinton turned himself into such a target for the Right, we on the Left are forever bound to defend and support all things Clinton. Worst of all is the notion that since Bill Clinton was improperly impeached, Hillary Clinton must be elected President .

3. Ooo a true confessions thread? |

Ok, I think it would be super weird to have your wife holding the office you once held, that is the highest public office in the land. I think it would be weirder than the Clintons even realize.
I think the presidency isn't a buy one get one free deal and if Clinton is running as a strong woman, she needs to run on her own merits and discourage her supporters from saying "yeah, but hey Bill will be there, too!" Like BOGO Bill or something. I don't want to have to worry that the president's spouse has to step in if they screw up. Or wonder which one of them is really the president.
I wonder if Bill isn't over the moon thrilled at the idea of semi-sort of having the presidency again.
I think Hillary has proximity to power mixed up with experience.
But none of this is going to matter, as I firmly believe she won't be the nominee. But thanks for letting me get that out.

6. Has anyone else noticed that the MSM usually refers to her |

candidacy as "the Clintons?" Like it's both of them? I don't think that's done her any favors.

8. Yep. It creeps me out. |

You never hear "the Obamas" named as the other candidate.
We vote for a person, not a couple to be in office.

4. And what does Bill Clinton's dick have to do with his wife's candidacy? |
|
In other words, it's her fault that he cheated. So if your wife cheats on you, can I call your boss and tell him I don't think you have enough character to do whatever the hell it is you do?
Still to real issues. The Iraq war is fair game. Your husband betraying you is not.

9. In a perfect world, it would have nothing to do with her candidacy. |
|
However, I see two groups who put it at center stage.
Right wingers try to make her candidacy all about his infidelity and lies.
Some Clinton supporters behave as if the only way to challenge the Right wingers is to insist that anyone who opposes Hillary and/or supports someone else is doing so only because of Bill's behavior.
It is possible to prefer a different Democrat because of issues other than Bill's dick. I am and was disappointed by reports of the extramarital affairs of FDR and JFK, but I still consider them to be great men. If we weren't so busy with a knee jerk defense of CLinton's affairs, I think more of us would realize that he was Republican -lite at best.
