I seriously want to see the "bowl off" |
|
I really am curious to see who would win. I think Hillary would take Barack pretty handily. I am an Obama supporter, by the way. I thought it was actually funny. Good to see she has a sense of humor and can show it.

Given some training he can bowl a respectable score- in the 130's to 150's...

and the delivery tone was odd... |

really tense - everyone understood it was satire - she would have been better served to keep it light.
it was awkward to watch, instead of charming and funny.

Charming and funny isnt something she seems to be able to pull off well. And adding all those attacks in there made her little "joke" a little less than light-hearted to say the least.

3. It was funny stuff. It really was. I wonder why no one laughed though... |
|
1. Either her delivery sucked, or
2. She is not seen as funny because of all the posion from her mouth lately, or
3. She is not seen as funny because her campaign is a tragedy.

They took all her personal attacks on Obama... twisted them into a bowling pun... and then tried to call it a "joke". Come ON. How stupid and obvious can they be?

20. I think maybe she just doesn't have a funny bone. |
|
The "snipers in Bosnia" thing actually would work, if delivered as a joke. I think that maybe she first presented it as a joke, but nobody laughed and she was stuck with it. C'mon, really. "If a place is too dangerous for the President, they send the 1st Lady. And their daughter." Classic absurdity. "We had to duck and run from the sniper fire." A fundamental tenet of humor is exaggeration.
Problem is, when a joke falls flat, you gotta make a joke of the joke, not just let it lie there. Any comic, or politician, knows that.

can you imagine Hillary picking up a bowling ball? don't think so.
My family owns two bowling centers, the elites think bowling is the poor man's sport.
btw~ lefties are naturals, I could have Obama bowling a 200 in two weeks.

If the Clinton camp hadnt launched serious attacks against Obama for "gutter tactics". They were serious then.. but now its a joke? I dont think so. Its just creative insults. http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Clinton_campaign_attacks_Obama_for_gutter_0324.html

27. I haven't bowled in 40 years, or more... |
|
and I'm an out of shape 60 year old who can barely huff and puff my way up a little mountain. I used to bowl in the mid-200's. I'm pretty sure I could break 200 again with about 8 hours of practice.
I therefore believe that Senator Obama could clean my clock with about the same amount of practice. Argue his fitness to be president of you care to, but look at him hanging in the air, stacked up over his center with the basketball on his chest and looking around to see where his opponents are and you see a pretty fair athelete for somebody who must spend the bulk of his time these days trying to sleep on a bus.
(Save me from the freakin' little duck pins, though. I'd rather just thow rocks at them.)

Henny Youngman was "funny"..
Funny in the way a parent dresses like their kids and tries to be "hip"...
Had she truly tossed it off as a flip remark or better yet, as a press release..that would have been funny..
scripted humor is hard to deliver..that's why there are so many part-time/unemployed/starving comedians :)
Obama should send her a bowling ball, bag & shoes..
That would be funny :)
