O.K., Here Goes Nothing. . .
I'll speak plainly, the only way I know how. Nothing fancy here.

I'm sort of posting this on a dare to myself, just to see if I'd do it. Maybe I should have posted this in the "sanctuary thread." I will probably stay out of GDP, and maybe should have stayed out till after the primary.
Maybe I'll come back here as GD-P(Politics) at a later time.
I am supporting Hillary, with absolutely no apologies. As some of you here might know, it was a process for me. I'm a Clarkie from way back, but his endorsement did not make my vote for Hillary automatic. But after thinking about it for a long time, for me, it came down to one word, experience.
As far as not voting for Obama goes, my vote for Hillary is not necessarily an anti-Obama vote.
I think Obama needs more time, and don't see the urgency right now. Who knows, under certain circumstances, I could be a strong Obama supporter, some day.
I know I was on one of the "lists," so I hope it's cool that I've posted this. You'll see no vile, nasty, or
"calling out" posts from me. If I do, let me know. I fuck up every now and then.

Dinger

41. Thanks, a nice post, and please don't take this wrong
I still am baffled by what exactly her experience is, that qualifies her better than Obama?
Truly, sincerely. I don't get it.

The only thing I can figure is that because Bill would be there with her in the White House, people feel more comfortable. It's a "known" whereas Obama is an "unknown."

If she were running completely on her own, and he completely out of the picture, would you feel the same confidence in her experience? This is an earnest question.. please don't take it as an attack.

50. Not Taking It As An Attack At All
Bill doesn't have much to do with it.

For me, it's her experience fighting the repuke attack machine,
her experience as U.S. Senator, and being re-elected to that position,
her experience as a mother,
her foreign policy experience,
and there's more, but to be honest, I was home sick today, and if I wasn't so lazy, I'd give you more.
I'll try to put something together a little more coherent later on.
Thank you for your question, it's one for HIllary and Obama supporters to think about.
I don't think I "get it" either for Obama supporters, but I will try to figure it out.

:)

I'm not quite so nice... I prefer a zinger or two these days because civil discourse is pointless here these days... at least until the primaries are over ... but i'm going to K & R you because I admire your attitude :)

7. Kudos on an honest post.
I do appreciate your sentiment. and you've not been any of my "lists" and of course, it's cool to me that you've posted. Here's my humble reply.

I also like the "experience" thing. But, for me, experience in Washington is not what I'm looking for. It just says status quo to me. The kind of experience I am looking for is the kind that Obama has. Pounding the pavement going to door-to-door to talk to people. Community organizing. Experience in bringing people together and getting them riled up about change that is so much needed in the political atmosphere of our times. Inspiring people to give a shit about their country again and take it back from the war-mongers, the corporatists, the typical us vs. them, redstate/bluestate charlatans.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share my view with you.

Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 09:17 PM by parasim
We are at a turning point in history here and we really can't afford to fuck it up. Skewering each other ain't gonna get us anywhere, in my opinion.

I'm for Obama, but if Hillary's in there as the nominee, then I'll fight tooth and nail for her to win it. We drastically need a change in course.

48. Every candidate runs on change and they all portray themselves as outsiders.
You will see this stuff in McCain's campaign in due time. You saw it in W's. It's recycled hogwash. Obomba has been a politician a good long time and he hasn't changed a freaking thing.

Although Hillary would not have been my first choice for dem nominee because of her voting record and her lack luster control of corruption in congress I cannot totally dismiss her because I know we cannot have another republican anywhere near the oval office.

37. Well it is mathmatically POSSIBLE for Clinton to win
But it is also mathmatically POSSIBLE for the dollar to reverse its downward spiral tomorrow.

I know, I'm nit-picking.......Obama is the most likely winner, and the sooner Hillary supporters get that message, the better for the party.
