The Only Lies That Should Be On Our Lips Are BUSH-CHENEY Lies!
I try to be calm and cool, but sometimes it is too much for me. When I see people like Keith Olbermann, who used to be such a voice of reason devote time on his shows to characterizing Hillary as a liar and then I read people here responding with the inevitable Well, Obama is an liar, too! I have to wonder if the Party has lost all sense of proportion.

Liars are people who concoct stories about yellow cake uranium and tell the country over and over again that they will blow up with an hours notice if we do not commit our entire military might and our children's economic future to a war that the NeoCons have been planning for two decades in order to liberate a bunch of nationalized oil.

Liars are people who seize citizens of the US and foreign countries and transport them by secret plans to other countries so that they can be tortured without any record and so that these people can deny that any of it was ever done.

Liars are people who conspire to disenfranchise voters through caging lists and voter challenges and E-vote fraud and who enlist their buddies in the news media to help them hide their crimes from the public offering bribes which they later refuse to deliver---because when does a liar ever keep a promise?

I know what a liar is. It is not Al Gore talking about the Internet and using a choice of words that made it sound like he was taking credit for something he did not do. It is not Hillary Clinton talking about Bosnia and confusing what she worried was going to happen in the plane with what really happened on the ground. It is not Barack Obama claiming a more poetic connection with JFK as a child than really existed. Those are words born of emotion and the heart. They are real on a personal level, though it is possible for malicious souls to mock and find fault with all three of them. I am sure that if I were so inclined I could comb through the transcripts of Countdown and prove that KO is Pinocchio. But where is the virtue in that?

The only lies that matter this election season are the ones that Bush and Cheney told about WMDs. Those are the ones that are fatal to democracy. To equate those with the natural human tendency to tell our own life stories as stories instead of as cold strings of facts is insane. It is like the warped thinking of the borderline personality who judges everything as all good or all bad with nothing in between.

It was her voice that made
The sky acutest at its vanishing.
She measured to the hour its solitude.
She was the single artificer of the world
In which she sang. And when she sang, the sea,
Whatever self it had, became the self
That was her song, for she was the maker. Then we,
As we beheld her striding there alone,
Knew that there never was a world for her
Except the one she sang and, singing, made.

Wallace Stevens The Idea of Order at Key West

Dirty Tricks Unethical behavior, especially acts undertaken to destroy the credibility or reputation of an opponent.

Those who have read my journals know that I believe that the RNC has been interfering in the Democratic Primary for over a year, and that many Democrats have been the unwitting dupes of Karl Rove's plans to destroy the credibility of our candidates.

Here is a helpful link on how sophisticated the RNC's oppo had become in 2000 when it used the MSM to create the narrative "Gore is a liar". That was before FISA and before it controlled the federal government including the FCC.

http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200406/green

The legendary—and legendarily ruthless—Republican political consultant Lee Atwater hewed to the adage that a campaign should frame its opponent before the opponent can frame himself.

And about Gore, Hillary and Obama

“The liar at any rate recognizes that recreation, not instruction, is the aim of conversation, and is a far more civilized being than the blockhead who loudly expresses his disbelief in a story which is told simply for the amusement of the company” Oscar Wilde

Gore wasn't running for president of the internet, Hillary isn't running for president of dodging sniper fire and Obama isn't running for president of JFK. But Bush is supposed to be Commander-in-Chief. That is how you can tell if it is makes someone a liar.

2. I once liked Olberman very much
...he was the voice of reason amidst a sea of ditto heads. But now, he has lost my respect altogether. I haven't seen a show in months. Once he took sides in the dem primaries, he became just another hack. HAd he kept it more objective, I may have stuck with him, but his bias was overly presented. He's become too dramatic. The almost instant fame has gone to his head, and he tries too hard to outdo himself on his special comments. The guy I once considered a modern day Murrow has now become a left-wing O'Relly himself.
