1. Other than the McCain one, the rest are childish and unworthy of us. |
|
And they don't even work as comedy.
Stopping McCain is what matters.

3. We need to be focused at this point on preventing people from staying home. |
|
Not on preemptive insults.

5. Let's try to see if we can still prevent mass abstentions. |
|
That's all I'm saying.
I understand your anger, but there has to be a more positive and preventative response.

6. The question is whether or not the "other candidate" is the primary opponent. |
|
It's bad enough that that's one less vote for our nominee, it's even worse if it's for the primary opponent.

People who pledge opposition to the democratic nominee don't help the democrats at all.

12. She's not going to win the nomination, so it's a non-starter. |

However, if I wouldn't expect people to bend over backwards to kiss my ass if I went around announcing a plan not to vote for the nominee.

and vote for the Democrat in the general election. This attitude of "we expect you to toe the line and vote as we tell you" isn't likely to win over many voters.

(Other than stripping putting HRC on the ticket with him, which you now know can't happen, of course).
What would help?
What POSITIVE steps would influence you?

We are all responsible for our vote (or failure to vote) in both the primary and general election. We are not responsible for other people's choices.

How about "I understand how upset you are that your candidate isn't the nominee, but I hope you'll reconsider your decision for the good of the country as a whole". But that would be way too mature for GD :P
