Let's win this election for those we love
Edited on Wed Apr-02-08 11:13 AM by SparkyMac
I begin to wonder if many people may have lost sight of the purpose of a nominating convention.

I keep hearing and reading so much by supporters of the various candidates that leads me to think that they think the candidates have more rights than the Party itself has.

In other words -- does a candidate who has less than 2025 delegates pledged to them have a moral right to the nomination ? Not in my opinion -- nor in the opinion of history.

The party gathers to select a person who can win the presidential election --- for the Party. Not for himself. Through the primary and caucus systems the Party offers various people the opportunity to display their charms. It's not too unlike a dog show. But just because a dog does well and wins a blue few ribbons does not mean he/she is now in charge of the kennel club.

Let us not lose sight of our primary goal. That is to select a person who will beat the Republicans in November and return control of our government to the People and out of the hands of Corporate
America.

If two or more candidates fail to get 2025 pledged delegates before the convention -- should we be forced to nominate one of the ? Not at all. It simply proves that those two -- like the others we started with -- are also losers. Come November we do not need a loser.

That is where the concept of super delegates come. They are free to look not only at the candidates who are proven losers, but also at any Constitutionally eligible person who might be of such stature as to win in November.

All I ask is that we -- PLEASE -- not lose sight of what is important. And one thing that is NOT important is soothing the vanity of the various losers. Doing so could well end up making us all losers.

1. Wake up and look at all the concerns that don't care if your
husbannd cheated on you or if your minister is pissed, or other personal issues that is burning a thought in your head. Let's elect a Democratic President.
