I do care about the message you're sending them if you don't have a good parental response to their accusations. If all you can do is stare or shrug, you're not doing a good job.

Really, if your children are so easily influenced by external forces that they succumb to drugs and lying just because they heard a story of some politician doing it, you've been a bad parental figure.

Maybe you should spend less time on the computer and more time with your kids. :shrug:
