But I still think his presidency was a disappointment in many ways. And I don't have high regards for him as a person. I don't think his personal life reflects on his ability to do the job but it does affect my respect for him as a person.

It's got nothing at all to do with supporting Obama. I also remember JFK and all those in between. Bill was a very good president, but in retrospect I wouldn't say great because his trade policies have decimated the jobs in this country.

50. I'm also having hissy fits over the biased media coverage.
Hillary is not being treated as an equal and Obama's calling the Clintons' racists just put me over the edge. But as time goes on, Bo has done so many things that are blatantly wrong it's madding to see him still having supporters. The man was raised anti-America, anti-white, he went on to join a church to match his own feelings. His wife's thesis was about race. Forget the fact that they have done quite well in this horrible country. That doesn't make any difference. If Bill or Hillary did or said any of these things they would have hell to pay. Anyone that feels the way the Obamas' feel should not be given the job of running or should I say ruining the country.

39. Yes, BO has done a number on Bill, but it was the only way BO
could be sure to make a come back after NH. He had to play the race card. You'd think people would realize it was Clinton that had been the one that supported the blacks, and they supported him. Over 25yrs they got along fine till BO came along and called Bill a racist, now you'd think that people would give Bill the benefit of the doubt, especially after hearing the remarks in Bill's own words, but it worked for BO so he kept playing the same old record.

and for me, once Edwards was out, I knew exactly what I would do because I had been leaning that way for awhile. Hillary was not my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or even 5th choice. But that's just me. I have no illusions about Obama, but compared with Hillary, I think he's far more likely to build on our majorities in Congress so that we can actually get things done.

51. Another story
The reason Dems lose offices it's not due to the Clintons when Dems sound like Republicans they lose that what happen in '94 and 02. As I see it Obama is the Republican choice because they know he's probably easier to beat then Clinton because he's very vague, and when the media goes back into their traditional role of helping the GOP it's going to be very easy to paint him whatever they want. I don't see any of the things Obama supporter claim he is, you attack Clinton on her vote for Iraq Obama votes to keep it going, he don't take stands on issues: Jena Six no one where to be found, Iran vote MIA which is funny he bashes Hillary for it yet he was scare to put his money where his mouth is and many of his supporters want people to shut up about trashing his speech in 2002. Like or not the context of the speech should be looked at, it's very easy for him to be anti war where he's running in a very liberal district not in Washington where the Republicans were using 9.11 as a political weapon against the Democrats. And the dude reminds of Bush, he speaks of hope and unity but let his foot soldiers do the dirty work and that won't work against the Republicans.

It seems it's you and the other folks in the Dem party are lving in a world that doesn't exist.. Obama can speak about the differences about him and Senator Clinton all he wants but the fact remains their records are the same. But here's the differences he doesn't take a stand on issues, he rather vote present or not at all then face the slings and arrows of his choices. He isn't saying anything new or anything inspiring it's all in the minds of his supporters that need to tell themselves he's something different. Like it or not he's like everyone else when things suit him politically he's there and when they don't or he's not sure he doesn't vote on it.

71. vague concepts of what he will do as president.
My friend, if you truly are interested in some clarity amidst your confusion I would be delighted to oblige. However, given that your statements are declaratory as opposed to questions, you seem to have arrived at your immovable position.

But just for grins I'll share the most important aspect about Obama's rhetoric. The one that convinced me to become an active supporter rather than a passive ex-Edwards voter. That aspect is his approach to meeting with people of all views and showing respect to all positions. You see, people can be grouped according to those who are arrogant enough to believe that Americans should enjoy a double standard in international relations, and those that believe that the path to peace can only be started when the parties respect each other. The only way to peace is to respect equally the voice of all parties. Obama has proven to me that his will bring the air of credibility to foreign relations. I trust him to do the right thing.

Is that too vague for you?

82. I wish he didn't
Eight years of him was enough, thank you. Fucked up national health care his first 6 months, so it was safe for the insurance industry for another 7 years, sold American workers down the road on NAFTA, sold welfare recipients down the road with that reform, and pussed out with "don't ask, don't tell".

I'm sorry if wanting national health care, worker protections, welfare to help people up, and equality for gays makes me sound like a Republican.

45. He. Is. Brilliant. Smartest president since Nixon. Hell of a lot sexier.
He makes guys fall for him. See how Al Gore fought with Hillary for his attention? I suspect that a lot of people that are mad at Hillary (like Dick Morris) are really just jealous over Bill Clinton. The man is a walking sex machine.

Men and women do not have to fit a certain Barbie and Ken model to be sexy . It has to do with the way that they look at the person they are talking to, the way that they smile, the way that they show interest in other people. All those women who accuse Bill of stuff that he could not possibly have done because he was somewhere else---they are stalkers who want his attention.

I have never met the man, but I can feel the vibes coming through the TV. And I usually am only attracted to men born under the sun sign of Taurus, like Stephen Colbert.

52. He cares
That's why I like him. I believe him. Ya, sometimes he says some weird things now. He is getting older after all, but I've seen him speak many times and what I always come away with is that he cares.

62. he makes you feel that you are the most important person
in that moment when he greets you..he never "looks over your shoulder" but has eye contact for that moment. the other person who can do this is barack obama..both men have that "gift"

i listened to a person on air america chicago who knows them both and that`s what he basically said about bill and obama.

83. I've watched both candidates speak
Hillary has shifty eyes, Obama looks at who he is talking to. Bill has the appearance of someone who has been hitting the sauce. I think GW has been drinking too. Maybe they've been having a beer together.

65. He's a good salesman for the DLC.
Fortunately, most people are no longer in the market for watered down republican products.

73. What the heck do you think Obama is?
He's a watered down republican product. And if he gets in the White House I'm going to enjoy saying "I told you so" repeatedly.

75. I'm not supporting either of them.
Both are solid "moderates" squabbling about minute differences in their politics-as-usual agendas when not slinging shit at each other.

I wish I'd said it first.

:bounce:

He's the one who helped move our party away from basic principles and get on the side of the corporatists.

I stopped being a fan when he weaseled on NAFTA and then went on to sign the Telecommunications Act and DOMA.

He's dead to me.

67. Bill 1.0 - Not bad considering Bill 2.0 - Honorable Bill 3.0 - WTF?
Bill 1.0 - Not bad considering
I worked the streets to get him elected and was ultimately disappointed in a fair amount of policies that he passed

Bill 2.0 - Honorable
After being out of office and before 2007, I liked what he was working on for the most part

Bill 3.0 - WTF?
He simply is ruining his legacy as a Hillary surrogate

Bill 4.0 - ?
After the Clinton Machine is dismantaled with the 2008 election, he may be able to change my mind if he changes course

78. He'll never reach Carter's status.
Carter has become a statesman and a hero in my eyes.

Clinton hasn't changed - he's still a huckster and a carny. In another life he'd be a grifter.

I am not attracted to the kind of men/women that the MSM says I am supposed to be.

It's no big deal if he isn't your cup of tea. Do you really need to get insulting though? We all have "flaws" in our appearance.

81. He likes women, all kinds of women.
He was the first Boomer president, the first president
that millions of women fantasized about.

I always thought Gore was the sexier of the two, but I
was also a Spock girl, liked the dark-haired intellectual.
