Um...fuck off Hillary. You are the real loser!

Candidate Clinton to Richardson: 'Barack Obama Can't Win'
Share April 02, 2008 7:39 PM

ABC News' George Stephanopoulos Reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., and former President Bill Clinton are making very direct arguments to Democratic superdelegates, starkly insisting Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., cannot win a general election against presumptive Republican nominee, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

Sources with direct knowledge of the conversation between Sen. Clinton and Governer Bill Richardson, D-N.M., prior to the Governor's endorsement of Obama say she told him flatly, "He cannot win, Bill. He cannot win."

Richardson, who served in President Clinton's cabinet, disagreed.

At a rally in Oregon, standing next to Obama, Richardson insisted, "My great affection and admiration for Hillary Clinton and President Bill Clinton will never waver," but he added, "It is time, however, for Democrats to stop fighting among ourselves and to prepare for the tough fight we will face against John McCain in the fall."

5. Why? Why that opening sentence in the post?
Was it necessary to communicate anything in the article you just posted? Does it have any purpose but to deliberately anger Clinton supporters for no particular reason? What does saying "fuck off Hillary. You are the real loser" get you?

It sure as hell isn't doing anything to help Obama.

13. Why?
Because i've had enough of her low-brow destructiveness.

If my fellow Dems aren't ready to kick Hillary to the curb by now, especially given tactics like this, nothing I can say in a single DU post will help.

25. So...
...that's a reason to argue against her being nominated. It doesn't tell me what purpose you think it serves to go hurling profanity at her in a forum where you know there are lots of people who don't agree with you on that, but where we ALL want everyone getting along and coming together behind the nominee when it's all said and done. Directing an enthusiastic "fuck off" at anyone's preferred candidate has probably rarely if ever convinced anyone to change their minds about anything.

And I'll tell you right now, whether or not you believe anything you say in a single DU post can help, I guarantee something you say in a single DU post can hurt, and you're doing it. Every time someone pulls stuff like this instead of just arguing their case calmly and rationally the other side entrenches themselves that little bit deeper and responds in kind. Which gets some more people on our side all up in arms and hurling insults right back again... that's how we get into situations like the one we're in on this forum in the first place.

Still...passions run high. It's stories like this that drive me to the edge, literally. My "insult" stands. Hillary deserve that one and more.

You would energize the Repuke base to come out just to vote against you! And you'd also lost probably 20%+ of Democrats as well!

22. It's important to remember
the circumstances from when Senator Teddy Kennedy endorced Obama. He had spoken with the Clintons, too, and Bill Clinton was angry at Kennedy.

Senator Kennedy was convinced that: (a) the polls he had access to showed that Clinton could not win in the general election; (b) the polls showed that Obama could win in November; (c) that the Clinton campaign was engaged in negative, devisive tactics that were putting democratic party unity at risk; and (d) that for not only the presidential election, but for the congressional and state elections, that Obama offered the party the greatest chance of success.

27. Richardson wrote a OP in the WP today that addressed some of this
He also said that Clinton never said not to endorse Obama.

Whereas Bill, in front of witnesses said he asked him 5 times.
Bill Clinton, you know the lawyer that was disbarred, for lying?

32. Quite frankly, I hope she did say that.
That's the only rationale I can see that justifies her staying in the race. Only if she truly believes that she is the only chance the Democratic Party has to regain the White House can I forgive the way she has run her campaign and the damage she has done to the Party. Blindness I can forgive.

Of course, I disagree with her. I think Obama can definitely win, but if you had asked me about his chances a year ago, I would have agreed with Hillary. Perhaps she has campaign blinders on. I had to change my mind and reassess Obama. I was astounded when I came to the conclusion that he could win. Perhaps Hillary hasn't quite gotten there yet. If she hasn't, I can understand.

I truly, truly hope that she did, indeed, say, "He cannot win, Bill. He cannot win."

If not, what she is doing is unforgivable.

-Laelth
