Hillary's refusal to drop out isn't infuriating. It's sad and pathetic.
She's like the bald 50 year old cruising for chicks in the red Corvette.

She's like the over the hill former superstar athlete who keeps unretiring.

She's like the senile professor emeritus who won't stop teaching.

Some people fade away with dignity. Other people burden us with their lost dreams and resentment. As an ex-fan of Hillary, it's sad to see that she's one of the latter.

19. I was just yankin' your chain.
I actually agree as an Obama supporter. I think if it looks like there's a viable chance she can win people will have a hard time coalescing around the presumptive nominee. If she doesn't do well in the next contest or contests, she can bow out on her terms making it easier to swallow the pill. Just my 2 cents, minus any snark (except for the fact that I still haven't received my pony for being an Obama supporter).

14. She can stay in if she wants, I guess.
Obviously, she has a high tolerance for embarrassment. Like I said, it doesn't make me mad that she refuses to drop out. I just don't understand how she can be so desparate for attention and affirmation. Maybe having a husband embarrass you in front of the whole world will do this to a person.

It's really kind of sad. She has so many talents but, unfortunately, lately she seems unable to use them constructively.

67. Help me understand where she got that fib from...
I was once a Kindergarten teacher and I've had several students that made a lie their reality.

They would say it without blinking an eye.

When she explained the Bosnia story, I got a mental picture of those students.

They found it extremely difficult to say ~ "I told a story."

They would just stay with the lie and dig themselves deeper and deeper into the "misspeak."

IMO, there seems to be a pattern of behavior that perhaps expanded after she had to tell lies for Bill and keep on a Happy Face for all these years.

She went through hell and back with her marriage. She seemed to do well as a Senator. Now, something has changed and it is not a good thing for her.

I'm for Obama and I feel she has every right to stay in the race. I don't think it is fair for anyone to tell her to get out.

What worries me is that she doesn't realize that a new day is dawning,Rocky lost the fight and she didn't even realize that, or fact check it, when she read her prepared "Rocky Remarks" from her paper.

20. I know it's pathetic that a candidate with 49% of the vote would refuse to drop out
and allow her opponent the nomination simply because he dominated the caucuses and now has a lead in PDs, which the rules specifically state don't chose the nominee.

Delegates choose the nominee, yes?

Pledged delegates partially do choose the nominee, then. The rules don't say that PDs specifically DON'T choose the nominee, because they are a crucial part of the primaries, and we all know that. You're trying to diminish the importance of caucuses and PDs, since Obama is doing well.

Yeah, stupid caucuses, stupid domination in the caucuses...stupid pledged delegates. A candidate ought to be punished for dominating anything; shame on you, Barack Obama, for encouraging massive support and enthusiasm needed to get people to caucuses that have had the rules laid out for a while as well as expanding Dem registration.

I agree, though; she shouldn't be forced to drop out. I just hope she accepts and supports him after it's all over so we can all make up and beat the old man this fall.

84. Hillary would get creamed if she called for Obama to drop out when he had 49% of the vote
She would be excoriated by the press if she outspent him 2 to 1 in Ohio and lost by double digits. She would never get away with claiming--for the first time in American history--that the so-called pledged delegates are what decided the race. And if she was ahead due to doimination of caucuses, but wound up losing the delegate count from states that held elections, then everyone would say that "the elites" handed her the nomination on a silver platter, while the voters preferred her opponent.

In this country we tend to vote for candidates for superficial reasons. Obama oozes charm and charisma, which is what he has used to coast this far in politics. It sure as hell hasn't been through hard work in either senate. Emil Jones, Rezko, Axelrod, are jut some of the people he should give eternal thanks to for his rapid success.

44. Did someone reach 2025 overnight?
By the rules of the DNC, one candidate must reach 2025 before being declared the winner... That has not happened and although I believe Obama will win this race, Clinton has every right to keep on going....

46. Some people don't know when to say enough. Tragic in a way.

48. Yeah, because letting voters decide things is so unDemocratic.
Gods, last election everyone was whining that the primaries were decided by a handful of meaningless states in the first month of the primaries, now they are whining that the election is coming down to the wire.

It takes two candidates to prolong an election. Obama could drop out, too, if he thinks democracy is such a bad thing. Given that he wins caucuses in states where he loses primaries, it's clear his delegate count doesn't represent any real popular vote edge, anyway.

50. yes, democracy is so pathetic
Allowing everyone to vote and have their say is just pathetic.

:sarcasm:

Actually, what is pathetic is the insistence that Hillary drop out. If Obama supporters are so positive he is going to win the nomination and the GE in November, then why do they act so scared and demand she drop out?

Pathetic.

78. I dedicate this great old Rush song to Hillary.
"Losing It"

The dancer slows her frantic pace
In pain and desperation
Her aching limbs and downcast face
Aglow with perspiration

Stiff as wire, her lungs on fire
With just the briefest pause
The flooding through her memory
The echoes of old applause

She limps across the floor
And closes her bedroom door...

The writer stare with glassy eyes
Defies the empty page
His beard is white, his face is lined
And streaked with tears of rage

Thirty years ago, how the words would flow
With passion and precision
But now his mind is dark and dulled
By sickness and indecision

And he stares out the kitchen door
Where the sun will rise no more...

Some are born to move the world
To live their fantasies
But most of us just dream about
The things we'd like to be
Sadder still to watch it die
Than never to have known it
For you, the blind who once could see
The bell tolls for thee...
