MSNBC: HRC campaign claims that Richardson told them "Obama couldn't win"
Presumably, this is to change the subject after today's headline about Hillary stating "Obama can't win".

22. Exactly. So Richardson endorses Obama and freaks the Clinton camp
out for what reason then? The Clinton camp has some basic problems with logic.

41. here - they have both
unless they are projecting that Richardson wants an Obama loss so he can run again in 2012. This implies he knows neither would offer a VP slot.

5. Mrs. Clinton's polling gurus would certainly have told her otherwise,
no matter what Bill Richardson said or didn't say, and no matter what anyone else suggests.

There is no one in the United States better positioned to become its next president than Barack Obama.

Even the dullest, most delusional soul in the Clinton camp is well aware of this.

10. The image that comes to mind is...
Bill C and Bill R are watching the Superbowl. Bill C is going on and on about Hillary and how she can win and Obama can't and Bill R is half listening/half watching the game and agreeing enough to get Bill C to calm down, but probably never gave the "you're absolutely right - I'm with you" statement.

12. And this benefits them to keep this spat going how exactly?
Bill Richardson would have been out of the news two weeks ago if they had just kept their mouths shut. Now all they do is remind people of a key endorsement and piss off more than a few Hispanics in the process.

Feels like blind, pathological rage more than anything else to me.

13. Damn they are pathetic! It's all good though. Let them keep
pissing off the super delegates. Who do you think the super delegates will believe between the Clintons and Bill Richardson? Despite the fact that their claim is ridiculous. Why would Bill Richardson risk his "friendship" with the Clintons and "friendship" with people around the Clintons (that he served with) if he believed Obama could not win. It absolutely does not make sense. I hope the Clintons pay for all the lying they have done during this campaign. I have to believe that good people will prevail. I hate that they feel the need to destroy anyone's characters if they don't go along with whatever the Clintons say.....I can only imagine the threats being directed at the Super Delegates.

59. The problem with Richardson...
...from the Clinton perspective is not the endorsement but Richardson's character. The Governor of New Mexico is generally perceived to be highly loyal and highly honest. In other words, someone with impeccable character. His endorsement of Obama sends a strong message that "character matters" this campaign.
