With her latest "3am telephone call" ad, Hillary Clinton is already displaying the DLC's pattern of conceding to Republicans on issues of national security. Her first 3am ad went after Obama's supposed inferior ability to handle a sudden national security crisis. But when she aims the identical ad at John McCain, it's time to run home to momma instead and stay on the safe ground of economic issues.
Announcer: It's 3 am, and your children are safe and asleep.
But there's a phone ringing in the White House and this time the crisis is economic.
Home foreclosures mounting, markets teetering.
John McCain just said the government shouldn't take any real action on the housing crisis, he'd let the phone keep ringing.
Hillary Clinton has a plan to protect our homes, create jobs.
It's 3 am, time for a president who's ready.
Hillary Clinton: I'm Hillary Clinton and I approve this message.
Again the DLC, this time in the form of the Hillary Clinton campaign, is determined to give the Republican Party a complete free pass on a major issue. A 3am phone call about foreclosures? This is as laughable to Republicans as it should be depressing to Democrats. What a great message to send the Republican Party: "You will once again completely control the discussion of this major issue." The Republican Party, with Bush at the helm, are directly responsible for the worst national security failures imaginable. Where the hell is Osama bin Laden? Al Qaeda membership has never been greater. Terrorist attacks are through the stratosphere. Using 9-11 as an excuse to invade another country? And Iraq is hell-on-earth and they have no way to fix it, and don't want to leave. They've turned the national security policy of the nation into nothing more than corrupt whorehouse of no-bid contracts, bankrupting the nation and eviscerating our freedoms.
If Hillary Clinton is too weak to go after McCain on national security, if she is determined to adhere to the strategy of losers, then she needs to step aside.
