So who's left that's still OK?
We read much around here about how some such previously beloved Democrat is now "dead to me" or is to be thrown under a mass transit conveyance for his/her support of a candidate.

My question is: so who's left? Who's still OK? Who hasn't been written off as a traitor to the Democratic party? I can't think of anyone who hasn't been completely disowned by one group of supporters or the other for having the unmitigated audacity to support someone else.

I figure this will be easy to figure out, since the list will probably be about five people, all of whom will probably be next on the chopping block in the coming months.

4. I've seen him badmouthed here.
Apparently, his refusal to endorse a candidate is tantamount to treason. And he's also been pilloried for not running for president.

6. Wow. Al Gore was the only Democrat to survive the under-the-bus apocalypse?
He's the last man on earth. Jesus.

8. If he endorses Obama, expect the most venemous reaction so far
You think they consider Richardson to be a traitor...

9. Apparently, he's getting close to corpse-hood himself
I already read a post here a few months ago to the effect that Al Gore owes his whole existence to Bill Clinton, and it's only because Clinton made him Vice President that the environment became an issue! Can you believe that shit?

Lots of people say silly things.

11. The entire "He's dead to me!" movement is silly.
So it was pretty consistent with that viewpoint.

12. No arguement from me!
My Senators are backing Obama. I am backing Clinton. I still love them both! (Kerry/Kennedy). They are entitled to back whomever they choose. They represent me well even if we don;t agree 100% of the time.

13. Indeed.
HRC's not my candidate, but Jesus Christ, there are few rights as inalienable as the right to vote for who you want, and the right to advocate --- zealously, if you so choose --- for that candidate. That anyone would suggest that you, I or anyone else is committing an act of betrayal just by exercising our right to vote and our right to free speech is absolutely fucking ridiculous to me. I hope people come to their senses.

14. I don't care who he endorses, he'll still be The Man to me.
It's no secret that the Gore/Clinton parting was less than amicable. I've never expected him to endorse HRC. Frankly, I don't expect him to endorse anybody until after we have a nominee, and I'm sure he'll be supportive of the nominee.

I wish he had run (God, do I wish he had run!!), but I understand, to an extent, why he chose not to, and I respect that.

He's STILL The Man.
