Poll question: Do you think that the democratic nominee will be chosen before the convention?
To be specific, do you believe that the Super Delegates will endorse in sufficient numbers to put Obama or Clinton over the top in June or by early July?

1. May 20th is the date to watch.
Assuming Obama continues on his current path (and he will,) he'll surpass the magic number of 1627 delegates on May 20th, the date of the races in Oregon and Kentucky.

At that point, it will be mathematically impossible for Hillary to surpass Obama in pledged delegates.

The superdelegates are watching that number - they dare not go against the people's will by overturning the pledged delegates, so they will move en-masse to Obama soon after he breaks the 1627 barrier. Very soon after that, the superdelegates will give Obama the magic 2025 total delegates, and he'll be the presumptive nominee.

2. June/July.
Far more of the "super delegates" have decided who they are most likely to support. Party leaders are aware of this, although this isn't in the news. Things are further along than people may realize.
