I believe Obama would be consistent in General Election while Hillary will dump the left |

It's a conventional bit of political stgrategy that you "play to the base" in the primaries but run in the middle in the General Election.
But I think there is difference between Obama and Hillary that will become apparent in the general Election.
Obama is not as progressive in his campaigning as many of us would like. He tends to be more cautious and MOR.
Hillary is being portrayed as more liberal in her primary campaign, taking stronger positions that might be called liberal.
IMO, these perceptions will mean that of the two, Hillary is more likely to disappoint liberals and progressives in her General Election campaign if nominated. She will move right and tone down what there is of meat-and-potatoes populism in her message.
Obama, on the otehr hand, will likely campaign in the General like he is in the primary. That's because IMO he does have a consistent message and set of principles he is running on. So what you see in the primaries is likely what you'll get in the General.

2. She's temporarily adopted more populist positions for the primaries |
|
But she did dump the left on a more fundamental level a long time ago.

3. I actually thought you were making sense until you said.... |

"She is, after all, a Clinton". Now I see it is just another bash Hillary thread.

She is a Clinton, and their longstanding pattern has been to dump whatever they consider poitical baggage.

6. When the going got tough with the Clintons on progressives issues, the Clintons folded. |
|
It's as simple as that. It started with DADT. Then the Jocelyn Elders incident. DOMA. Welfare reform. Telcom Act. Media consolidation. Corporate deregulation and lessening of oversight.
The times that the last Clinton administration took a principled stand for progressive issue and didn't back down or didn't compromise to the point of betrayal can be counted on one hand.
