Why do the Clintons keep talking about Richardson? |
|
It only reminds everyone that a respected guy ,who knows them well, decided to back the other guy. Get over it already.Move on. Its smart politics to let it die,the quicker the better. I just can't understand why they keep bringing it up.

3. To discourage other defections |
|
By character assassinating Richardson, HRC and her husband hope to prevent other (potential) supporters from endorsing Obama.
It's also clear they took his endorsement quite personally.

|
Edited on Thu Apr-03-08 05:50 PM by polichick
He reported today that their anger is festering ~ they feel very wronged, not just by Richardson but by many people.
(He was on some msnbc show, maybe Hardball.)

I knew Bill was a narcissist, but Hillary's outrage at not getting what she wants has been pretty eye-opening!

They thought they owned him and had the RIGHT to demand his obeisance.

12. I'll believe that when you can show me a link where RICHARDSON |
|
says he told them that (no more 'the Clinton campaign says' crap).
He says he didn't tell them he'd endorse her and he hasn't given any of us reason to think he'd lie. Bill Clinton, on the other hand has a well documented history of telling lies and Hillary Clinton is following in his footsteps.

14. But, as far as anyone knows, he DIDN'T tell them anything like that. |
|
Richardson was always free to endorse anyone he wanted.
(My beef is that Richardson SHOULD have made the endorsement before the California primary, or at least before Texas. Now, it's too late to matter.)

28. Hillary is the one arguing that all delegates are free agents |
|
Even more than the bashing of an honorable man, it is the rank hypocrisy being displayed here that is pissing me off. Hillary, and all of her surrogates, have been saying to anyone who will listen that any and all delegates are free to choose whoever they like. Even if Bill Richardson did promise his endorsement, according to Hillary, he is just as entitled to switch over.

19. Yes imagine that. The possibility of a lying Richardson. "There's a nice comfy chair for you Bill. |
|
when I win. Screw the Clintons."
Of course the premise of him winning is at this point absurd. So Richardson will spend his time arguing with a Republican president from a neighboring state.

He's a MAJOR crack in the Clinton Dam... The camp must crucify the "turncoat" (my emphasis) to keep their other delegates inline. Pretty smart machevellian move on the Clinton camps part. I dont think it will actually work but might as well try it.
Richardson showed courage. Thats for sure.

25. They're trying to intimidate others who consider crossing them. |
|
It's typical of the way they do business. They trash those who reject them. Their game now is to stop the public procession of high visibility Democrats from coming out for Obama, by implicitly threatenting "this is what we will say about you!"
