"Paulette Revere" just played the gender card AGAIN

Hillary Clinton NEVER misses a chance to point out that she's - OH MY GOD - a woman. Can you imagine the reaction if Obama referred to himself as "the black Paul Revere"? if he often talked about how he's opening doors for black children, the way Clinton talks about breaking the glass ceiling for girls?

Now, if Senator Clinton wants to stand up and give a speech directly addressing the continuing inequality and tension between men and women, as Obama did regarding race relations in America, I would be impressed. But simply dropping "Paulette" into yet another self-aggrandizing lie is just plain offensive.

2. Guess she doesn't know her history
Paul Revere was detained that evening by the British. The one who actually got the word out to the minutemen (incuding one of my ancestors who passed the story down) was William Dawes.

22. Pauline would have been a better choice than Paulette
since Her Royal Girliness seems to always be in peril of being treated "mean" by all those naughty boys..

13. why, she can't compare herself to anyone but women?
Why didn't she just say, I was like Paul Revere, warning everyone? I can't imagine saying, but wait, Paul was a boy and you're a girl.

Now everyone stumbles on it and says, Paulette? huh? and forgets what her whole point was.

Edited on Fri Apr-04-08 12:57 PM by Erin Elizabeth
Really?

That would have just made me bust a gut laughing.

Also...Hillary? I don't care what you've got between your legs. I care about your character. And I find it lacking.

26. Why wouldn't she compare herself to "Paul Revere", the actual person?
Instead, she creates a mythical female version? Why would she feel a need to do that, if not to remind everyone she is a woman?
