"There is no such thing as a pledged delegate." |
|
BURBANK, Calif. (AP) — Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton, who is unlikely to catch rival Barack Obama in pledged delegates, hinted Thursday that she hoped to persuade a few to back her instead of him.
"There is no such thing as a pledged delegate," Clinton said at a news conference in California, where she has been fundraising.
...
The former first lady said she was traveling to North Dakota to thank her supporters and delegates — and wooing Obama supporters was fair game.
Pledged delegates are a "misnomer. The whole point is for delegates, however they are chosen, to really ask themselves who would be the best president and who would be our best nominee against Senator McCain," Clinton said. "And I think that process goes all the way to the convention."

1. Pretty soon there won't be any such thing as a nomination... |
|
It actually always was a coronation.

4. DO YOU SEE?! DON'T YOU SEE HOW MADDENING THIS IS?! |
|
What she's hinting at is wooing the delegates chosen by the electorate. Strongarming and subverting the friggin' will of the people! This "persuasion" that she speaks of--it aint candy and flowers. It's threats and hints of retribution...
And some Clinton supporters have no problem with this? If Obama said anything like that, I'd disown him.

to remind you that she's technically correct. It always happens.
What annoys me is her wailing buckets about the "disenfranchised" in FL and MI. She'll "enfranchise" you when she needs you, and "disenfranchise" you at the other end if she doesn't like your vote.

6. She might want to consider that some of her "pledged" delegates might flip on her. |
|
Be careful what you wish for, you might get it and not like the results.

7. HRC: We don't need no stinkin' elections. |
|
Just let the delegates pick who they think would be the best president.
:eyes:
I doubt Obama delegates will be "wooed" by you, Hill. Prolly more like :puke:

13. I think it could be just an excuse to drag this thing to the convention even... |

if she's behind in popular vote AND pledged delegates AND super delegates (even if FL and MI) is seated...she sure has all of her basis covered....
