Discussion with Colorado friend. |
|
I just talked with a friend in Colorado.
He and most of his family have pretty much always been Democratic, though not particularly active beyond voting. I had last talked with him back in December, and at that point he was strongly supporting Hilary Clinton, and I am quite sure voted for her in Colorado's primary although Obama won by a good margin there.
The good news is, that although he is much turned off by the infighting among the Democrats, and although he would probably prefer it if Clinton won the nomination, his vote for the Democratic candidate either Obama or Clinton is not in danger. He also believes that his wife and adult son feel similarly, although he did not go so far as to speak for them.
Also, he tells me that he lives in the 4th congressional district, which is represented by Republican Marilyn Musgrave; he saw this as a bummer until I pointed out to him that the 4th District of Colorado is considered a competitive congressional race--the only competitive congressional race in Colorado according to Congressional Quarterly.
All of a sudden he became enthused, talking about going and getting a yard sign for Musgrave's opponent.

Once Tancredo retires we're down to just Musgrave as the "nationally-recognized embarrassment to Colorado".

With this race going on there is a good chance republicans can sneak in tricks to gain support for their congressional candidates!
So that is why this race needs to end so we can focus on those races and obama can appear with the candidates to gain support in their districts!

6. Betsy has outraised every Democratic challenger in her district in electoral history. |
|
I'm not exaggerating. Coloradoans crave change, and Betsy will bring that change.

9. I'm not in Musgraves district but she's a real piece of work |
|
Hope he helps get rid of her.. Last election cycle I lived on the intersection of 2 really busy streets, and was happy to display many yard signs. I moved to a cul-de-sac now no one sees my signs except my crazy neighbors.

11. Ah don't cry, Once this race is over we can ALL move towards assisting the congressional candidates! |
|
Spreading the word!, Donating, Even creating youtube videos helps!
Get out the vote! Let us solidify a good lead in both parts of Congress so that we can move on with a filibuster proof few years! THAT is how we help repeal the multitude of crap laws made under Bush!
Good luck everyone!
