No, Hillary doesn't have to apologize for joking about sniper fire. |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-03-08 10:52 PM by DarienComp
Sorry, but this is ridiculous. Was the joke funny? That's a matter of opinion. But we've all been joking about it for the past two weeks! Please let's not be hypocrites.
And the 40th anniversary of MLK's assassination is tomorrow.
Okay.
On edit: some of you have commented that Hillary should be apologizing for actually lying about Tuzla, and on that point you have absolutely no argument from me.
Uh oh, now everyone is gonna hate me.

21. Well allow me to make an effort... |
|
1- She lied in order to boost her experience claim.
2- She tried to make light of her lie by joking about it, so that hopefully people would get over it.
3- Her joke and lies about sniper fire do illustrate her lack of sensitivity on this grave issue.
4- Hillary voted for the IWR and I do not need to remind you of how many of our guys have died because of sniper fire. (For real)
5- The sniper fire that Hillary joked about has killed children in Bosnia.
Now Bush also made a joke about WMDs. He also lied about the fact that there were WMDs for his own reasons. I am sure there were some other idiots who also made jokes about the fact that there were no WMDs found, and thought it was funny for the president to make such a joke too.

35. The only thing I would say |
|
is that people actually did die because of Bush's WMD lies, so of course his joking about it was totally outrageous. In the Tuzla situation, it is obvious that nobody died, since there was no sniper-fire, hence Hillary looking ridiculous when she claimed that there was.

Really?
Should she get out a ceremonial knife, cut her head, bleed onto white robes, and whip herself with chains studded with nails?
Would that make you happy?
If you don't like her, don't fucking vote for her. But chill with the fake outrage. It's entirely unconvincing, and makes you look incredibly foolish.

I find it in really poor taste that Hillary would use humor to highlight the fact that she lied about experiencing sniper fire.
Her joke reminded everyone that she told a really big lie.
I'm not saying she should be whipped or that this is a total outrage.
I just thought it was a bad decision.

It is shocking me how many people are faking "outrage" over this. I could understand the outrage over her original lie, but being outraged over the joke is far fetched. She had two options. She could ignore it, and let it fester, or she could tell a joke about it and SEE if it lightened the mood. I didn't see the joke, just read it, but knowing her lack of comical ability it probably did nothing to lighten the mood. The Bosnia debacle seems like it is turning out to be her big misstep. The joke... not so much.

I mean I didn't see/hear her joke. What could possibly be funny about her repeated confabulation? That she didn't think she'd get caught? That the flower girl and the pilot totally busted her lying ass? That her lies about NAFTA or Northern Ireland weren't as blatant? That's all pretty funny in a very pathetic way.

49. I just don't think it's fair to broaden it out to all of Bosnia |
|
The issue has always been Hillary's landing at Tuzla and whether there was sniper-fire on that day. Video clearly showed that there wasn't. Hillary clearly lied. Nobody died that day. That's why I think that the comparison to Bush or even Kerry's botched joke is off.
Hillary's use of the word 'sniper-fire' in the joke was clearly a reference to her Tuzla landing. She wasn't joking about other troops killed in Bosnia, much less anyone who was killed by a sniper in the history of the world.
Well, anyway. I can't keep posting tonight-- bedtime. :boring::boring::boring:
