Poll question: Which is more offensive, Randi Rhodes comments or Hillary's behavior that inspired it?
Hillary is snuggling up to the likes of Rupert Murdoch and Richard Mellon Scaife, and using their media and their tactics to attack Obama. Along with her support of pro-corporate policies like NAFTA, the Iraq War, and even Lieberman's recent bill to pave the way to an Iran War. Those have cost American tax dollars, American jobs, and American lives.

Randi Rhodes called her a ''whore'' for all of the above and using thinly veiled massaging of racist anxiety about Obama through her surrogate Geraldine Ferraro. Frankly, the last pales compared to all the others.

The real problem is that her record makes it look like her only improvement on Bush will be having a president with the power of human speech.

You may not find Randi's comments funny or even accurate, but they won't piss away your tax dollars in the sands of another oil war, make it easier for your boss to ship your job to Bangladesh, or put your kid who ran off to join the Marines in a wheelchair or body bag.

So who do you find more offensive?

3. Repeating lies and exaggerations about HC does not make them true.
Rhodes was way, way out of line.

5. EVERY politician is a political whore
even Obama. That is the nature of the game. But to call a woman a whore, without putting the word political in front of it to quantify what you are talking about, is not okay.

10. Then it should apply that we can call every black
politician a nigger. Calling a woman a whore is hate speech, plain and simple. It is demeaning and is a denigration of EVERY woman. She called them whores to denigrate them. If she had called them political whores, I would not have had a problem with that, it would have been in context.

11. whore refers to a job or selling oneself in a similar manner. Joe Lieberman is a whore too
as are all the members of the DLC.

12. Really? Is there some other context for that word, another definition...
... as there is for 'whore'?
1: a woman who engages in sexual acts for money : prostitute; also : a promiscuous or immoral woman
2: a male who engages in sexual acts for money
3: a venal or unscrupulous person
So, not only is 'whore' not restricted to the female gender, there is a gender-neutral meaning that would seem to fit many people's impressions of Sen. Clinton to a T, a venal or unscrupulous person.

You most certainly don't have to agree with that opinion, but your differing opinion doesn't negate the meaning of the word.

14. Mirriam-Webster's website just freaked me out...
I searched for an even more offensive word than whore (to check on the off chance that there might be non-racial definitions listed) and the banner ads by that definition were linked to the Missouri tourism site, and Barack Obama's website. Both of those are wrong on so many levels

15. 'whore' wasn't the word for which another, less-offensive definition was being requested.
... but feel free to post your URL, to share.

13. Is there some inoffensive meaning of that word that I'm not aware of?
'cause there's certainly an applicable meaning of 'whore' that many may attribute to Sen. Clinton.
