mccain says it was a mistake for him to be originally against a day honoring King |
|
but my question is why was he against it in the first place?
Why did he vote for waterboarding after what he went through, and his talk about being against torture?
Why is it OK for the media to trash our candidates and hold them accountable, but they see no reason to hold HIM accountable?

1. It was a mistake because back then he didn't realize |
|
that someday he would have to backtrack & kiss up to them to try and get all 14 votes (black republicans)

4. LOL, of course my point is that the media is giving him a free pass |
|
and I suspect they will continue to do so
It will be up to the Democratic candidates and US to hold him accountable

3. I think mistake is sort of soft peddling the issue |
|
He took a position that was wrong. He needs to admit and explain that position, as it speaks to the character and leadership ability of the man. A mistake is when he mixed up Al Qaeda with Iraqi extremists. He listened to the arguements, debated the issue and decided that MLK wasn't worthy of a holiday. That is much more than a mistake.

6. Don't try to figure him out. He's a windsock. |

McCain then: Iraq will be easy!
McCain now: Whoever said Iraq was gonna be easy was wrong.
McCain sometimes: Torture is wrong!
McCain more often: Well... maybe we should torture sometimes.
McCain then: A day honoring MLK? Why? I don't understand... I'm against it.
McCain now: I was wrong... now that I'm the candidate for pres... I so TOTALLY get it!
