Amy Goodman has been broadcasting about liberal issues and bringing truth to the American Public for 20 years.

When President Bill Clinton called WBAI on Election Day, 2000, for a quick get-out-the-vote message, Goodman challenged him for 28 minutes with questions about Leonard Peltier, racial profiling, the Iraq sanctions, Ralph Nader, the death penalty and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Clinton defended Democratic policies against progressive criticism, but inappropriately charged Goodman with being "hostile, combative, and even disrespectful."

But you can bet she didn't call him a fucking dick.

I bring up Amy for comparison because there's an example of a radio professional who's been reporting on liberal issues, with and without opinion, before it was ever possible to do it on commercial radio.

I mean, should you be outraged? Maybe. Maybe you should send her an email telling her how pissed off you are because at one time the name Amy Goodman stood for something. Maybe you'd stop listening to her show, just like other people might, and her ratings would drop and she'd be forced out of the business.

But if she said something stupid or offensive, should her boss try to shut her up and send her packing, no matter who or what it was about?

Sorry, after a long night of thinking hard about Randi's situation, I say no.
