Let it sink, let it go, put it to rest.
I am an Obama supporter. I have made my fair share of snarky comments and pushed more than a few buttons, but things are really starting to get out of hand. Would it really be so hard to step back and think before you post? Just look at most of the crap littering the front page of GDP.

Obama has won. He will be the nominee and be sworn in as the 44th president of the US. It is time to put down the baseball bats and stop the crap that passes for discourse now.

Let it Sink needs to be applied to both sides. Just lighten up with the vitriol.

1. It's too late -- it won't make a difference now

The Obamas might as well continue the abuse regardless of the outcome -- the damage is done.

The question is, how deeply this perception runs in the Democratic base.

5. It runs very deep.
We can't use any past elections to gage the anger yet, because we have had a white woman or a black man run against each other for President.

9. Political junkies who watch these things like sports nuts watch their teams and know all the stats

are way less represented in the mainstream world.

The reality is the "normal" democrats that watch the evening news and catch an occasional newspaper article are lagged and still in the throws of the fight, but just like a canary in a coal mine that the political junkies represent, they will also cool down and align to a candidate.

That candidate is likely to be Obama when the "regular" news begins "reporting" that he won in June.

The big thing that loses this for Hillary is nuance and rules.

People follow simple things that they can identify with, things they would do, or understand to do, thats why people listen to soundbites, and accept stereotypes, but as a whole when you have to explain your point beyond something they can say "yeah I get that" and nuance and interpretation is your only methods left you lose alot of people, If they go "huh what does that mean" they arent going to back you passionately.

2. Good post, I took the pledge several weeks ago to get away from posting...
negative stuff against the opposition.... But... When the oposition brought the Rev. Wright story up again, I admit that I lost it and went back on my pledge. I am again going to attempt that pledge and try to stay above the frey and let the bad ones sink.

8. fraction or not
Concerned about this board. You know think globally act locally. The tossing around of "whore" and other pure crap is out of hand.

6. I disagree
What's the problem with letting people just say what's on their mind? And if you feel like engaging in the conversation, jump in?

I have no one on my ignore list. I like reading what people have to say, even if I disagree. And I like when people are obnoxious because then I know what to expect from them when I open a thread or decide to pass it on by. I don't need to lecture other people about 'Let it Sink' and coax other people into behaving a certain way. I'd rather know who I'm dealing with and appreciate them knowing that it's genuine.

7. So have I on occasion
I think the Clinton supporters should feel free to use the Let it Stink campaign as well. Skinner and the mods can't police us on this forum without causing more outrage than they might prevent. It is up to us to keep the crap down. Be honest and if a thread stinks just politely say so and let it go.
