working class? Is that really the argument you want to use? Should the rich - especially a couple that donated 10 million to charity - just tell the poor and disadvantaged to go fuck themselves?

and if you had taken the two minutes to look up my posts, you'd discover I support neither candidate although will vote for whoever has the D behind their name. Thankfully, I don't let asshole supporters direct who I'll vote for. But keeping driving people away from your candidate - it'll be very helpful in November.

48. The good thing about it is she paid enough taxes in
Had they been a part of Halliburton they would have paid about 5% but instead they paid 33% in taxes which is a good thing. 32 mil on a book Bill wrote. Bill in speeches 55 mil which is the bulk of the money over those years. Hillary had also 2 best sellers, 10.5 mil on her books. Yeahhhhh and 10.5 mil in charities. Yeahhhhh they paid there fair share of taxes. Now everyone will fall in love with her because they paid there fair share of taxes. Now, the people that question her will love. They will say, tax the rich and now she is honest.

P.S. John Edwards made 350 million, plus, he was fighting for the poor where the Clinton's did not drum that message up so there is no hypocrisy.

17. Clinton Finds Way to Play Along With Drudge
Clinton Finds Way to Play Along With Drudge

By JIM RUTENBERG
Published: October 22, 2007

WASHINGTON, Oct. 21 — As Senator Barack Obama prepared to give a major speech on Iraq one morning a few weeks ago, a flashing red-siren alert went up on the Drudge Report Web site. It read, “Queen of the Quarter: Hillary Crushes Obama in Surprise Fund-Raising Surge,” and, “$27 Million, Sources Tell Drudge Report.”

Within minutes, the Drudge site had injected Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s fund-raising success into the day’s political news on the Internet and cable television. It did not halt coverage of Mr. Obama’s speech or his criticism of her vote to authorize the war in 2002, but along the front lines of the campaign — the hourly, intensely fought effort to capture the news cycle or deny ownership of it to the other side — it was a telling assault.

Mrs. Clinton’s aides declined to discuss how the Drudge Report got access to her latest fund-raising figures nearly 20 minutes before the official announcement went to supporters. But it was a prime example of a development that has surprised much of the political world: Mrs. Clinton is learning to play nice with the Drudge Report and the powerful, elusive and conservative-leaning man behind it.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/22/us/politics/22drudge.html

Look for the official announcement to come soon.

109M over 7 years? That's roughly $15M a year! Why, that's chump change! How do they survive? She's such a trooper!

I bet they only have 5 vacation homes instead of the 10 I own. And I heard Hillary was riding around in black stretch limo the other day. How droll! My luxury jaguar limo makes that look like a Yugo!

Yes she surely understands the plight of the working man. I feel quite compelled to donate a portion of my exorbitant salary to her - POST HASTE! The poor thing needs it MUCH more than I do!

Clinton Release on TaxesStatement of Jay Carson, Clinton Campaign Spokesman

Today Senator Hillary Clinton and President Bill Clinton are releasing their tax returns for the years 2000 through 2006, and are providing information regarding their 2007 taxes as well.

The Clintons have now made public thirty years of tax returns, a record matched by few people in public service. None of Hillary Clinton’s presidential opponents have revealed anything close to this amount of personal financial information.

What the Clintons’ tax returns show is that they paid more than $33,000,000 in federal taxes and donated more than $10,000,000 to charities over the past eight years. They paid taxes and made charitable contributions at a higher rate than taxpayers at their income level.

2000 - 2007 TAX RETURN SUMMARY
HILLARY & BILL CLINTON

TAXES PAID: $33,783,507

The Clintons paid $33,783,507 in federal taxes – 31% of their adjusted gross income. According to the most recent data available from the IRS, in 2005 taxpayers earning $10,000,000 or more paid on average 20.8% of their adjusted gross income in taxes.

CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS: $10,256,741

The Clintons donated $10,256,741 to charity – 9.5% of their adjusted gross income. According to the most recent data available from the IRS, in 2005 taxpayers earning $10,000,000 or more contributed 3.1% of their adjusted gross income in cash contributions to charity. Information about the Clinton Family Foundation, including a list of charities to which the Clintons contributed through the Foundation, is available online in the Foundation’s publicly available tax returns (www.foundationcenter.org).

AFTER TAX EARNINGS: $57,157,297

CUMULATIVE TOTAL(GROSS) INCOME: $109,175,175

Including, among other items:
Senator Clinton’s Senate Salary: $1,051,606
President Clinton’s Presidential Pension: $1,217,250
Senator Clinton’s Book Income: $10,457,083
President Clinton’s Book Income: $29,580,525
President Clinton’s Speech Income: $51,855,599

SENATOR CLINTON’S BOOK INCOME: $10,457,083
Senator Clinton’s book income is comprised of earnings for Living History ($10,267,895), including an $8,000,000 advance, and It Takes a Village ($189,188). The earnings for It Takes a Village were donated to charity. Since the release of It Takes a Village in 1996, Senator Clinton has donated over $1,100,000 to charity.

PRESIDENT CLINTON’S BOOK INCOME: $29,580,525
President Clinton’s book income is comprised of earnings for My Life ($23,280,525), including a $15,000,000 advance, and Giving ($6,300,000). The President donated $1,000,000 of his income from Giving in 2007 to charity.

63. Wow!! Look at how much they gave to charity!
That is so awesome. But I sure would not want that tax bill. Holy crap...That is a lot of money in taxes. I think it is great how successful that they are. But we all know that Bill knows how to make money. He was the one responsible for getting Washington back on track with regards to budget deficits and surpluses, etc. Unlike Boy George, who has undone all of the good work Clinton did. Now all we have is debt.

112. yes it would surprise me. Its not a charity and they didn't give it any money
You could look this up if you were really interested.

http://dynamodata.fdncenter.org/990s/990search/esearch.php

Between 2002 and 2006 the Clinton Family Foundation (which is the recipient of the charitable donations listed on the Clintons' Form 1040) disbursed over $2.5 million in contributions, those contributions ranging in size from $1000 up to $100,000. During that time, no donations to the Clinton Library were listed, which isn't surprising since it is not a public charity. There were $70,000 in donations to the Clinton BIrthplace Foundation, which runs the Clinton Birthplace Museum. A $50K contribution in 2003 and $10K in 2005 and again in 2006 -- a rather small amount compared to the total amount given.

The Foundation has another $4 million available to it for charitable purposes. The Clintons are listed as the directors of the Foundation, but they receive no compensation. Indeed, the Foundation is run with virtually no expenses, other than the contributions it makes.
