Clinton to Obama - Enough with the speeches (unless they are worth $51,855,599)
Edited on Fri Apr-04-08 05:20 PM by FrenchieCat
President Clinton’s Speech Income: $51,855,599

IRONIC!

AFTER TAX EARNINGS: $57,157,297

CUMULATIVE TOTAL(GROSS) INCOME: $109,175,175

Including, among other items:
Senator Clinton’s Senate Salary: $1,051,606
President Clinton’s Presidential Pension: $1,217,250
Senator Clinton’s Book Income: $10,457,083
President Clinton’s Book Income: $29,580,525
President Clinton’s Speech Income: $51,855,599
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=5384991&mesg_id=5384991

adds up to $94,162,363
which leaves 15,012,812 unaccounted for......on this list, anyways.

In jagged tones of dramatic fury, Hillary Clinton waved Obama campaign mailers on a Cincinnati stage on Saturday and admonished, "Enough with the speeches and the big rallies... Meet me in Ohio."

7. "Just words" Of course, Bubba wasn't ducking sniper fire when he gave those speeches either.
His first speech in 2001 - Length: 8 minutes, Payoff: $2 Million dollars.

Man, that must have been some story!

10. If this were a Law and order episode, the clink clink just hinted that a secret motive just appeared
Obama's speeches now threaten Bills speaking and book income in the future.

Hmm, wonder what the twist ending is gonna be?

Oh yeah, not yours Hillary

21. Possibly.......
I'm sure that Obama would be a bigger draw at this point, even if he didn't become President....which of course, he will. :)

25. Yeah...she railed about "speeches" over and over again......
Little did we know that 1/2 of the Clinton's income came from making speeches, and not much more other than influence peddling.

22. Not for nothing, but I paid $110 to hear Bill Clinton speak, and he never showed up.
Never received a refund either, but did get a great consolation prize - Robert Kennedy, Jr. showed up instead and gave a great speech centered on the theme of his then-released book "Crimes of Nature."

26. Just WORDS?!
In the case of Bill Clinton, they're not just words, but evidence of how thoroughly he has rented himself out to a world of special interests, whored himself virtually nonstop since leaving the White House.

And this list doesn't include all his off the books work for nefarious interests whose contributions to his library remain under lock and key.

He was just in out town, speaking for free, and there were 500 empty seats. Maybe he is getting paid by the Clinton campaign.
