Someone tore up my bumper sticker today.
When I got home today after a really fantastic week at school and a great day discussing "American heroes" and MLK with my classes, I saw that someone had ripped my "Obama '08" bumper sticker half off. It put a real damper on my day. Who would do that?

I do live in a scarily red county in New Mexico, so I understand that people would disagree with my choice of candidate, but I just don't understand why someone would feel compelled to do that.

I guess I'll just have to buy some more stickers from the Obama website, which only gives more money to his campaign. Bummer.

17. Thanks, slinkerwink.
It's just a little thing, but it did get me down a LITTLE. Although I knew when I put that sticker on my car that I was running a risk, this is such a small town that I didn't think anyone would actually DO anything. Given the demographics of where I live, I guess I should consider myself lucky that they didn't slash my tires.

I'm tempted, though, to buy like, ten, and put them all over my car.

i have feared putting an obama sticker on my car, but we aren't in primaries here anymore. it's ny here, and honestly i haven't seen a lot of stuff anywhere in support of candidates. except my brother and brother in law and their fred thompson stickers.

Sure it's not changed too much since then. Worked in the oil bidnez before the crash in mid 80s. Was a rough couple of years in NM, laid off, went to Midland & laid off again a year later. Repugs and the oil industry are way too familiar.

Oh yeah, Sooner alum here too.

19. Seens like Houston hated Kerry more than Obama -
this year Tomball City Hall was OVERFLOWING with voters waiting to caucus.

And Obama carried every one of the 5 precincts voting there that day.

Never thought I'd know OTHER Tomball Democrats. Now, I know LOTS of them.

What a difference 4 years makes!

piece on your car, we always do when our bumper stickers are defaced....usually with a note about how it happened. Back in 2004 I got my car keyed real bad, I was sporting a bunch of homemade "dump bush" signs inside the car for all to see. Freedom of Speech is all important, keep on keeping on!

Vandals will be vandals. That's why I always get extra copies of political bumper stickers, so I can just put a new one over the old ripped one.

If so, I would advise giving them a small donation so you can get one of their free stickers. That way you can adhere it on your bumper right next to your replacement Obama sticker. It might act a deterrent to vandalism.
