He invested wisely. So did they.

5. But, why is it different?
Gore invested heavily in technologies he promoted. He joined the boards of many of those same corporations. It's not unlike Bill Clinton's efforts for Africa. Clinton also invested in the types of things he was promoting. Both were good causes.

50. Al Gore made 50 million dollars alone in investing early in Google
That was reported last year on the cable news. The fact stayed with me because it was such a large sum of money.

Al said when he left office he needed to earn some money for his family. In being in public service over 25 years and attempting to keep a distance between himself and the appearance of financial impropriety, he did not indulge in questionable financial dealings for his self-benefit. That standard left him, despite all his achievements, with not enough money in the bank for him and his wife. The fact they are where they are today (in just 8 short years) is a real tribute to the effort he has made in making up to Tipper what they both sacrificed for so many years.

I do not think one will find a number of questionable transactions in his financial sheets that rival those of Bill's and Hillary's -- just my opinion on the matter.

Sam

Just because these companies have clever marketing campaigns does not mean that they're any friendlier to us citizens than any other multi-billion dollar corporations.

he did make a ton of money. So what?

The OP is meaningless as to pertinence to anything, but AG was said to be worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $100M. Proving that, though , would prove nothing as to the presumed intent of the post.

..candidate...

The $109,000,000.00 they "earned" is more than I will see if I worked for the next 1,500 years....

So yeah, they understand what it's like to be me REAL well....:eyes:

16. Same for me.... but this is America... I don't begrudge making money
Isn't that what the American dream is? Can you point to something in that income that you don't like? Speaking fees bother you? What about the book he sold? That's bad? I would bet Bill Clinton made 20 million just in book sales, royalties, and speaking engagements within one year of leaving office. Easy. I'm supposed to be upset about that? So what, he was a good President, he spent how much on legal fees dealing with Republicans in the 90s? Pay the man.

but you offered the purely stupid notion that Gore worked hard for his money which is pure nonsense. Actually, as the 60 Minutes profile pointed out Gore gave away most of his earned money. It isn't my fault you choose to make ridiculous assertions.

So they come out and the best you got is they made a lot of money... Does that mean they could make money for the country? Does it mean they are elitist Democrats like the Label they tried to pin on Kerry? What does it mean exactly that these people are successful?

Did they cheat on their taxes? Is there anything there that is unlawful?

No wonder I can't get behind either candidate.. It is accusations like this that makes me hesitant to get behind either candidate...
