Hillary in ND: 'I have absolutely nothing against rich people.' |
|
"I have absolutely nothing against rich people. As a matter of fact, my husband - much to my surprise and his - has made a lot of money since he left the White House doing what he loves doing most, talking to people."
Well, that's good to know. I'm sure they're relieved.

1. I have nothing against rich people either |
|
I have something against people who acquire things dishonestly. Be they rich or poor.

19. No, that ain't what I said. |
|
And Clinton is not selling intellectual property, he is selling something, I'm just not sure exactly what it is. Getting 20,000,000/year for showing up, which is essentially what he does, seems like some sort of payoff. Clinton is not alone in this. Reagan got huge fees for showing up. Carter seems to stay away from this stuff. Ford had a whole influence peddling career after he left the White House. Ah that is the word I was looking for 'influence peddling'. Influence Peddling is obviously something of value, tremendous value it seems if you are a former president, I just don't think it qualifies as intellectual property and it reeks of corruption.
Thanks for asking though.

Former Presidents are in demand as are sports figures, former members of congress, motivational professionals, movie and tv celebrities, authors and others.
There is nothing corrupt about it. Human beings, in our country, are entitled to make as much money as they wish, legally, if there is a legitimate market for what they are selling.
In this case, there is a market. You might want to try and look at this dispassionately instead of through a lens that is predisposed to find fault with everything Clinton does.
I don't expect that to occur, however.

7. I love how Hillary attacks Obama for just being good at 'speeches' while she and Bill rake in the |
|
cash (numbering in the TENS OF MILLIONS) on speeches alone. What a hack.

THAT was the most important part, he message was a very sacred DEM philosophy, SHE IS RICH! SHE DOESN'T NEED A TAX CUT!!! That was the point, not that they made a few million a year (CEO's who bankrupt companies make that in MONTHS)

15. For years the Clintons lived in Arkansas |
|
in the Governors mansion, they never owned a house. The Governor of Arkansas does not get a huge salary. That was their lives for many many years. I doubt very much that either of them thought 20 years ago that they would be where they are now.
Clinton rakes in the big bucks on speaking engagements because he is a damn good speaker and he was the President of the United States. Duh! Why don't you Obama supporters stop your whining about their good fortune and start talking about something positive your candidate has done instead of tearing down to fine people.
