Did any of anti-Hillary posters apologize for jumping to the conclusion that she |
|
was behind the exposure of Barack Obama's passport? I remember the knee-jerk reaction was that Clinton's campaign was behind it and we were privileged to a day or two's worth of threads that pronounced THIS IS THE LAST STRAW!!111!!! I'M FOR OBAMA NOW!!!1!!!!
Turned out that Clinton's passport had been accessed as well and that the entire affair had nothing to do with her. I'm just curious? Did this get cleared up or do we just jump from accusation to accusation around here?
Just curious. What's the latest scandal today? Bookbag-gate?

I'm really trying to get on board with Obama because I have a feeling he's going to be the nominee, but the hysterical hatred of Clinton is scaring me a little, to be honest. Not saying that I don't disagree with 50% of what she does. But I'd probably disagree with 45-55% of what Obama does as well and this incessant freaking out smells like Rove. Actually, I'm not able to tell the difference between the Rovians and Dem supporters anymore.

Hillary has earned my LOW opinion of her. It's not "hate" - it's disgust. Obama seems to have a somewhat higher sense of integrity. The differences in their various campaign positions is barely discernable or of much import.

|
Those are all easily verifiable -- BO sought early on to profit from the right-wing attacks of the nineties. Hence, the movement is rooted in the effects of those attacks: slander -- "Hillary hate."
Much more slander would follow of course, i.e., "calculating, dishonest, do anything to win", and race-baiting. To name a few.
Same stuff you see here every day -- it comes from BO and his campaign.

Can we try not to be as stupidly sweeping as ignorant freeper conservatives please?
I am deeply, deeply angered and hurt by the campaign Clinton has chosen to run this year. I think if a historian were to do a biography of Clinton's life and political career, this last year and this campaign would go down as one of the low points of her life.
But that doesn't mean that Clinton has never done anything good in her life or as Senator. Either way, it isn't personal.

32. I think that was a pretty egregious accusation, though. It was also utterly unfounded. |
|
I do think that Hillary supporters make mountains out of molehills sometimes. Obama's 'smoking' was one thing that irritated me awhile back. I think both sides have been weird about endorsements--I even jumped on that bandwagon until I realized that these were sabotage endorsements on both sides.
But it was just really disturbing to me that people thought that she would encourage someone to violate the law for the purpose of...what? It was so much more likely that bored employees just said "hey let's see what's on the candidate's passports!" I also don't think that Clinton's supporters automatically blame Obama's campaign for every little wrong. They usually blame the GOP. I would guess that the GOP is behind about 98% of all of this nonsense.

The passport thing was just one of many. Each day seems to bring a new "outrage". I really have no use for the people who see the trouble coming from just one side of the equation here. And I wish both sides had more people that were willing to stand up to their own side when they do shit like this.
I suspect I'll be waiting a long time for that to happen on a regular basis.

as far as I know Clinton's passport was accessed by a trainee, and was discovered immediately..as the trainee was being supervised. to expect that those who accessed the files be questioned to find out why they were accessed and who if anyone the information was passed on to. Accessing files several times (tripping alarms) requires me to reasonably suspect that there was 'motive', and of course there is 'evidence' that this was done.

I'm not going to validate whatever emotion you need validated. We can circle the wagon and I could ask you to apologize for Rezko among other things but I will not because it is stupid and childish. Not every Obama supporter thought Hillary had anything to do with the passport gaft. Until there is a full investigation I'm not going to say nay or yay on who is responsible.
As far as the tax returns. Well it is Friday and the digging has just begun. I'm not sure what the book bag issue is all about but if something came out of Hillary's mouth about a book bag then I'm gonna assume that it is a lie considering she isn't keen on telling the truth.

Other burning questions that have not been 'fully investigated':
*It is also possible that she is responsible for Kennedy's assassination, but I haven't been presented with any evidence that would lead me to conclude that it's a reasonable accusation. *How do we know that she is not actually responsible for the Drudge Report and that all the years of Clinton bashing are actually a crafty ploy for sympathy to rally the base? *How do we know that she isn't responsible for global warming? *For that matter, a cop was murdered in my town last year. She hasn't been cleared on that either.

Hillary's own words and behavior make her subject to scrutiny.
However, it is foolish to automatically assume that she's behind any and all mischief going on during this election cycle. It is also foolish to try to pin something on your opponent before all the facts are in.
This foolishness took place on both sides.
Rather than mutual apologies, it would be smarter for all parties to let this serve as a reminder to keep cooler heads about "breaking" stories.
