How your donations to Hillary and Obama go to support the war in Iraq?

Well, not all of it. Last month, Barack Obama raised $40 million dollars and Hillary raised $20 million. The month before that, they raised even more money. It's campaign reform in action, right? The little guys are getting their voices heard?

But, if we consider where this money is spent, it doesn't seem so pure. A good proportion of these "donations" are spent on TV advertising, most specifically on networks like NBC and MSNBC, owned by the General Electric Corp. Your hard-earned dollars that you donate to further democracy end up in the pockets of the executives of General Electric?

And who is General Electric but one of the largest defense contractors in the world? They help keep the war in Iraq going. People like Tim Russert know very well who butters their bread. They play a game with the little people. They will even let one of their little watched networks, MSNBC, be "anti-war" from time to time. But it's not really a threat to them. They can pretend to offer a balanced view of politics and war, so long as they have Tim Russert on Sunday mornings to keep their interests in perspective.

Meanwhile, the horserace is coming down the stretch. Who's ahead today? Is it Obama or is Hillary making a surge? Never mind that the war in Iraq just suffered a fatal blow with the attack upon Basra by the US puppet, Maliki. Never mind that the memos have now surfaced that show President Bush himself approved of the torture, as defined by some underling assistant in the Justice Dept named Yoo. The important question is, Did Hillary or Obama lie? Or how much in taxes did the Clintons pay. Don't dare look at the big picture.

Until we find a way for the best candidate to win, without running television ads, OR we find a way to prevent defense contractors from owning media outlets, well, pardon the expression, but, duh.
