Out of 118,000 DU'ers on this site...
...I've only encountered about 20 that I seriously BELIEVE would not vote for the Democratic candidate in November.

There's nothing scientific about it, I'm just deeply skeptical that picking one nominee over the other would cause a huge rift that the Democratic party would never get over in time.

1. The point is to what is right for the country, hopefully that's the same thing
as doing the right thing for the party.

4. It's not serious, it's a bargaining tool.
"Act how I want you to act or YOU'LL BE SORRY!"

Whatever. They don't want to hit the bricks, they want to talk our ear off about it.

5. I agree. We really are almost ALL together on the issues. That's why we're here.
The anger that has been whipped up in this forum (that has long since outlived its usefullness) has make people nuts.

But not so nuts that they will stay home or vote Repuke, I believe.

Just pissed off big time.

I'm sorry for that, indeed I am. I too feel that incandescent anger sometimes. It's human nature.

I'm about to start a poll to ask how many DU'ers think we should get rid of GDP in some form.

Not this time.

10. Unfortunately I've encountered many in real life. This is unlike any primary we have ever seen.
We have never had a white woman, or black man running for the highest office.

Many won't tell you that they won't vote for either candidate because they fear they will be viewed as sexist or racist.

Many women won't vote if Clinton isn't the nominee and many blacks won't vote if Obama isn't the nominee.

We have a serious problem, and just because DU doesn't feel this way doesn't mean the real world agrees.

11. you are absolutely correct
I've been doing the phone banking/voter ID thing, and at least half of the responses I've gotten have been something to the effect that the person considers themselves a Democrat, but they don't know if they can vote that way this year. We have a problem.

12. Well, you can bet money that I will not vote for Hillary
It is not going to happen! I won't vote for McCain but I won't vote for her either! The only way she wins is if they take it away from the person who has the lead to "give it to her". I absolutely will not vote for her if that happens.

14. I Don't Know If Is Anger or Not
A few women I know are so disheartened by what they see as misogyny and sexism they say they will either write in or leave the presidential box unchecked. Their anger runs deep and it's bitter. These women have careers, raised families and Hillary was not their first choice, second or in some cases third. For Obama supporters to continually attack doesn't help their candidate at all and for these women to be described as white haired, working class or some of the more descriptive adjectives just turns them off more. They are issue voters and don't like his NCLB and other stances.

A few other people I know are just as enraged about the racism they see in the primary season they threaten to write in a candidate's name or leave the presidential box blank. Although they do not paint the Clintons as racist, they paint them as winning at all costs and a negative campaign. Their anger is just as deep and bitter. They bristle at latte drinking and using college graduate as a slam. The comments about Obama being Muslim and then being bashed because of Rev Wright's comments sir just as big as resentment as any Hillary supporters. For Hillary supporters to bash bowling and insane charges just make it worse. Obama wasn't the first choice of many of them either.

Most of the time I believe it's just anger boiling over although I am concerned if it doesn't stop we are going to see McSameasdumbasapostbush in the WH. In my fantasy world I imagine both campaigns bashing the bejabbers out of McCain and stop throwing out charges against each other. The MSM loves the brawling. If they didn't Rev Wright wouldn't be a story now and some of Hillary's comments would be distant memories. At any rate, I wish democrats would stop sounding like freepers no matter which candidate they support.
