Sorry, but that line strikes me as hilarious, because it reminds me of a song by one of my favorite comedians of all time: Martin Mull. It's a little number called "Ukelele Blues" that captures that soul-rending white, suburban, middle class frustration, and it goes like this:

Woke up this afternoon, saw both cars were gone,
