A letter to Clintonites
My fellow Clintonites, it's time for Obama

FOR SUPPORTERS of Senator Hillary Clinton, like me, it's time to get behind her rival, Senator Barack Obama.

more stories like thisThe exposure of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr.'s outrageous and divisive remarks has injected the raw emotions associated with race relations into the presidential campaign. This new dynamic raises the stakes in an already high-stakes race. Our responsibility as progressive-minded voters is to show Americans a positive alternative to the toxic politics of race. Rallying around Obama now increases our chances of doing just that. Obama has run a positive and inspiring campaign, and has attracted a majority of pledged delegates. It is hard to envision a scenario in which Democratic superdelegates override the will of millions of primary voters and caucus participants. Obama will be the nominee.

Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding Wright presents Republicans with a polarizing wedge issue to exploit with general election voters. This approach not only risks an Obama loss in November - denying us a fresh, capable leader - but it would set the country back in its racial reconciliation process. Americain 2008 should be better than that.

As we have done at many key junctures in our nation's history, Democrats and other progressive-minded voters must lead the way. The current firestorm is an opportunity to move beyond the anger and resentment that have characterized our nation's dialogue on race. By throwing our enthusiastic support behind Obama now, voters of all political stripes can echo the candidate's refrain, "Not this time."

There have been many moments in our history when we failed to heed that call. Twenty years ago, as a staffer of Governor Michael Dukakis's presidential campaign, I observed the use of the now-famous "Willie Horton" ad to undermine a good man's character, fan the flames of racial division and distract voters from the most important issues of the time.

1. What a lying sack of shit. Popcorn indeed.
This person was a Clinton supporter like I have two heads.

He worked for Obama's pal, Deval Patrick, in his campaign. He also worked for Mitt the Shitt ROMNEY, which shows you what a craven opportunist he is.

And anyone who has a kid named "Tucker" is suspect on a good day.

Mr. Jones is a veteran of national and state political campaigns. He served as campaign manager for Mark Roosevelt, the 1994 Democratic nominee for governor of Massachusetts, and in various capacities for Michael Dukakis's 1988 presidential bid. He also worked within Governor Dukakis's administration. Jones chaired Governor Mitt Romney’s education transition team in 2002 and served on Governor Deval Patrick’s civic engagement transition group in 2006.

Mr. Jones is an active member of his community, serving on various boards, including Citizen Schools, MassINC, Mass2020, Northeastern University’s School of Social Science, Urban Affairs and Public Policy and Rediscovery House.

A graduate of Hamilton College, he lives in Wayland, Massachusetts with his wife, Robin, and sons, Hugh and Tucker, and daughter, Eden

7. Yeah, snuggle up to Romney. PLEASE.
You have no idea what that fucker DID to the state of "education" in Massachusetts. He instituted cuts that required schools to charge onerous fees for everything from buses to music classes to athletics, negatively impacting the poor, and reducing quality and services across the board. Our good schools have slipped, and our bad schools have gotten WORSE, thanks to Romney and this enabling assclown.

I won't even go into what a shitty job he did with Big Dig and MEMA. To say nothing about how he fucked over seniors when he reduced the circuit breaker tax threshhold, forcing many seniors out of the homes they had lived in for decades.

You have no fucking idea what you're talking about.

11. STOP bein' so MAD and describe the word
TRANSITION and it's meaning...HOW CAN THE MAN BE PART OF A ROMNEY team when all he did was help on a 'transition' team? Didn't say he was working thereafter FOR ROMNEY,...just that he helped 'transition' the education dept. from one group to another.

15. You DO realize that the "transition" was from one GOP governor to another?
Plainly, you don't.

2002 is when Romney (R) took over from Swift (R) who was "acting" after Gov Celucci (R) got appointed to an ambassadorship by President Bush (R).

Please. Do a little research before you make an ass of yourself. He was 'transitioning' ON BEHALF OF Romney.

18. Well, just tell me smarty pants,
How DO these gawdawful republie-cons get into office in YOUR state? Also, you agree that dems should have no voice in these gawd awful repub-lie-cons administrations? I mean afterall, this Jones fellow DOES have some experience in education for these people>..."Tripp Jones is a senior vice president and chief administrative officer of The MENTOR Network, a leading national provider of residential and support services for people with developmental disabilities, children with emotional and behavioral challenges, and people with acquired brain injury."

20. We let the GOP have the governor's office. We tend to run weak Dems.
The legislature can wipe their asses on the governor if push comes to shove.

The pathetic thing is, now we have a Dem governor, and now he can't even sell his own legislators on his budget plans. He's just not bringing it.

Why are you calling Tripp Jones a DEM? He's a wolf in sheep's clothing, a Zell Miller, Joe Lieberman type, a profiteer who makes out when his GOP cronies are in office. Trust his craven ass as far as you can toss it.

The very best thing about Barack Obama
No, not that. Or that or that or that. It's that other thing, deeper, crazier, intuitive

25. Sorry, I don't "feel" it. And that "OMG!!!!" confessional style of writing may be popular with
some, but that, too, leaves me cold.

I'm not calling that opportunist a DEM, FWIW. He's an overeager suckup, always looking to line his own pockets.

"always looking to line his own pockets" seems to be a favorite line you use a lot.

So why is Hill running for prez, for the fun of it? Has she and Bill agreed she'd not accept the usual prez salary? Hmmm?...I wonder, could you please enlighten me?

Anyone who sucks up to Mitt Romney is untrustworthy, to put it nicely. And that jerk has his work for Romney prominently featured on his resume.
