My guess is that it is probably Wesley Clark. Clark would have been serious contender to be VP if he chose to endorse the candidate that opposed the Iraq War as he did.

Who else do you think regrets their endorsement?

10. Actually there are a number of times when bill clinton has spoke about Obama
Edited on Sat Apr-05-08 07:57 PM by Boz
That you could tell if the situation was different he would have loved to be involved in an Obama campaign, If nothing else to relive some of who and what he brought to the table.

Bills a political animal (I mean that in the sense of a fine aging pro athlete) and he has to identify with the new man from hope with some of his greatest plays of his own past successes, more than he could self identify through the comparisons to Hillarys as she is in her own right a different person and far removed from his style.

Much of this can be seen in Bills early missteps in Hillarys campaign as most of them came when his legacy was compared to Obamas current performance.

Later after that initial chuckle and batting at the "new kid" being compared to the old pro moments there has been a change and realization in many of his comments, he has acknowledged on several occasions that Obama is a heck of a politician and riding quite an interesting wave but for obvious reasons he couldn't say more than that but there was a glint a hint that h e remembered what it was like to be where Obama was and there had to be a lot of self comparison to his own successes and failures and what Obama is likely to experience.

In a different time and place the Old Lion would have liked the new leader of the pack.

9. To be honest...
I don't think we need or should take Senator Clinton as a VP but I think it would be good if we took a high profile Clinton Supporter to help unite the party. Wesley would fit that bill.

19. I have often fantasized of the Obama Clark ticket
Some for the reasons you touched upon, also for

1)It would negate/destroy McLame's war/national security stance.

2)It would help bring all of the HRC supporters back into the fold.

39. You remind me of Woody Allen
All men are mortal
Socrates was a man
Therefore, all men are Socrates

You don't make sense.

Kennedy and Kerry don't stand in front of thousands of their angry constituents, live, and tell them, in effect, that they don't know what the hell they are talking about.

46. Agree. He's like the only western Dem Gov to endorse her
Although he's already waffling...

--------------
On the same day Obama traveled to Portland, Salem and Eugene last Friday, Kulongoski delivered his state-of-the-state address to the City Club of Portland and took questions from audience members. One asked the governor if he planned "follow the will" of voters and throw his support as a superdelegate to the winner of the Oregon primary -- even if it is Obama.

Kulongoski indicated he would consider doing that if the election produced a lopsided vote. But he added, "I have come out for Sen. Clinton. I went to Iowa to campaign for her and I'm going to Pennsylvania."

37. Before I even read the OP I thought of Clark.
I was sorry to see he had endorsed Hil. I was also kind of relieved he didn't opt to run this time himself, because I would have then had to choose between Clark and Obama. I know a few other Clarkies who were in that same boat, FWIW.

I'd LOVE to see Clark as a VP choice for either candidate

Mostly because I just wanted him to keep all of his own options open.

I'm not sure who else might regret it -- but I assume that if Obama gets the nom, they'll all be on the same side.

48. Wes is loyal to the clinton's, yes, but he has not burned any bridges, in my opinion.
IF Obama does get the nomination, i think there should be a place in the cabinet for Gen. Clark. I hope so.
Same with RFK Jr.
There should be some serious healing going on, and a merging of like-minded dems can make a stronger case for that.

Here's hoping!
