There really is too much Hillary bashing going on.
I mean I really don't care about whether she carried a bookbag just like I don't care if Pastor Wright is moving into a white neighborhood. But lately there's been something going on that's even worse than all the candidate bashing. Faux candidate bashing outrage!

Yes, faux candidate bashing outrage. This occurs when some extreme supporter for a candidate posts a thread that says something like "I'm not voting in November because of all the insults against my candidate!" It does nothing to stop any real bashing and then the poster gets to feel justified in his/her outrage when a hundred posters tell him/her that they are full of shit. They can even start another thread in which they play the victim because all the nasty people said mean things about not voting on a political website.

Then there's the fake thread titles like "DU IS LIKE RNC OPPO!" or "THERE'S NEVER AN EXCUSE TO HATE A DEMOCRAT!" which then go on to slime a particular Democratic candidate. Of course the reason these deceptive posters use is "people are being unfair to my candidate" so of course they feel justified in smearing their opponent's supporters at length.

I really, really do hate to see all the candidate bashing going on, but at least those who are doing it honestly have a little integrity. This perpetual victim role that some DUers are taking on is intellectually dishonest and only makes their candidate look worse when seen through that prism.

So if you're going to be dirty, at least be honestly dirty.

That is all.

The extremes on both sides better learn to have some respect for we non-extremes.
We are very important when it comes to winning election.

12. I have spent the past 2 years + going after the right wing.
Now, I have to fight with the left because they are being as unreasonable as the right is.

Also, if you want to call me a "Richard Nixon Democrat" then you must be a "Hussein Democrat".

because they feel like giving to good causes at that point in time.

It's a tax strategy, which I am sure you know all about.

They could have just given the aggregate amount to the Red Cross and saved the same amount on taxes. And we all know how well big charities do when they get large sums of money all at once...

Three times the average amount for their income level.

Interest/Dividend/Cap Gain income from a blind trust is awfully hard to predict. I think we should round up those seven one-hundredths of a percentage point. What do you say?

22. Who is she kidding?
Ocober 2, 2002 - Obama delivers his speech entitled "Against Going to War in Iraq"

October 10, 2002 - Clinton votes for bill entitled "Authorization for the Use of Military Force Against Iraq"

October 10, 2002
Floor Speech of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton
on S.J. Res. 45, A Resolution to Authorize the Use of
United States Armed Forces Against Iraq

As Delivered

"Today we are asked whether to give the President of the United States authority to use force in Iraq should diplomatic efforts fail to dismantle Saddam Hussein's chemical and biological weapons and his nuclear program.

I am honored to represent nearly 19 million New Yorkers, a thoughtful democracy of voices and opinions who make themselves heard on the great issues of our day especially this one. Many have contacted my office about this resolution, both in support of and in opposition to it, and I am grateful to all who have expressed an opinion.

"If we get the resolution and Saddam does not comply, then we can attack him with far more support and legitimacy than we would have otherwise."

"This is a very difficult vote. This is probably the hardest decision I have ever had to make -- any vote that may lead to war should be hard -- but I cast it with conviction."

More of the Speech which 'wasn't a speech" but an official "speech" given before Congress.

39. She can't win, and it won't be going to the convention.
There have already been quite a few statements from various Democratic superdelegates (including people like Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, who have not yet endorsed either candidate and have more power and influence than the 'average' superdelegate) that they fully expect a nominee before the convention. All indications point to this being Senator Obama, because Senator Clinton is not going to be able to close the delegate gap. This is a simple fact which is obvious to anyone with a rudimentary understanding of mathematics; pointing it out does not constitute 'bashing'.

One can only redirect your own question back at you: are you ignorant, or just stupid?

Those who hate Hillary can bash Hillary and this thread at the same time. They are way more talented than Gerald Ford about whom LBJ said "he can not chew gum and walk at the same time."

36. I wonder if anyone can take a minute
Without assigning any negative qualities, or motives of entitlement
Put yourself in her shoes.
You have been hoping for the day when you might run to be the first woman president. Somehow things lined where it seemed like it would be you.
Then, along comes this guy out of nowhere. Not only does he have a competing historical presidential run, he has a life narrative that you can not possibly compete with.

You scramble with the traditional means, while he builds a campaign lashing out against them. Wiping the floor with your dreams.
She's grasping at straws because of the pressure. She is under pressure to continue on because of commitments made to women who she knows are watching.

She's one of our own. Constuctive criticism and analysis is one thing. But let's cut her some slack!

40. Actually, so far as I am concerned, she is not one of our own.
She is DLC. They pursue a 'third way' that is not Republican, nor traditional Democrat. They have in essence created a third party within the structure of the Democratic party - anti-populist, anti-union, pro-American exceptionalism, believing in the power of the elites to keep the hoi polloi in line. Fellow DLCer Lieberman went so far as to run independent rather than submit to a populist challenge from within the party.

The sooner the DLC is pushed out of the party altogether, the better off we will be.

37. You would think that since they are so sure that Obama will be the nominee
and they probably are right, that, at least, they will just sit quiet, smug in their assured victory. But the fact that they need to trash Hillary to feel secure in Obama one has to wonder: How secure are they in the fitness of Obama to be the nominee and the president?

38. Shut up Obama supporters: You must let Hillary and her surrogates
continue to smear him because he's ahead?

That's the most ridiculous logic! This is a race until the end.

To quote Hillary: If you can’t stand the heat, don’t run for president.
